What the dumbest thing a drug-counsellor ever told you?

I have a few gems from rehab that I wrote down during our group sessions.

My knowledge of drugs greatly stripped that of those who were counseling me... anyways one was. "I was doing so much Cocaine that my nose was packed full of the stuff. It was horrible."

The conversation followed with a series of queries as to why he didn't begin injecting his Cocaine so as to be more efficient. Its a safe bet to say that his answers weren't convincing...

haha. rediculous

i still cant get over the people who think hydrocodone and codiene are the same thing. or theyll call it " hydrocodiene ".
:p

also people who think lsd drains your spinal fluid and and if you do it to much after a while you wont have any spinal fluid left and youll die or get paralyzed or something.

also people who will do any kind of pills/pharms. you give em gladly, are quick to look down on heroin. :p

In an outpatient program in downtown Phoenix, like off Van Buren.

"Addiction is a disease" man, please, priorities.
 
I didn't get told this by counselor...just one of those 'older guys' who thinks he knows everything, but usually just talks a heap of shit and argues endlessly when others disagree with him. You probably know the type of person I'm talking about, everyone does.

Anyway, he claims that "all white ecstasy pills contain at least 1% pure heroin".

I can think of so many reasons why this statement is stupid. It is easily the dumbest thing I've ever been told about drugs...even dumber than weed being laced with heroin to get you hooked.

i've hears people lace pot with: crack, cocaine, heroin, pcp, and acid. i've never gotten lucky and gotten any laced with anything in my 9 years of daily smoking, maybe one day ill get lucky and someone will spend $20 lacing my pot with some nice cocaine 8)
 
Way back in my highschool years our "Health" teacher said that smoking Marijuana messes with your testosterone levels to the point where men end up growing female like breasts:D
 
me talking to the counselor at my mandatory once a month shady doctors office:

me: i think after 3 months on daily temazepam im addicted, deff cant sleep and have anxiety when i dont take it
her: well, go to the gym and work it, it will make you feel better if your coming off benzos...you will be fine
me: if i jumped on a treadmill when i feel like im DTing from benzos i would probably have a heart attack (other people in group LOL because they know its true)
her: just stay off the tread mill then and stick to free weights
 
"Concerta is an amphetamine and will show up on a drug test"

I corrected her so hard she had to call the doctor.
 
most of what the actual addict counselors said was ok (sure there was alot of ignorance, but at least they were pretty open), but when the non-addict counselors spoke all i could hear coming out of their mouth was "i know i've done alot of research, but i still have no idea what i'm talking about"

but i do remember the treatment center's medical doctor said some pretty outrageous things like LSD never leaves the body, that basically every drug causes psychosis and schizophrenia...idk, almost everything he said was to the extreme...i wish i could remember some of the other stuff he said, but my brain did a good job of blocking that nonsense out
 
When your in an inpatient facility and the patient knows more about the drugs they are prescribed than the doctors do, it is pretty sad and embarassing on the doctors behalf.

In the rehabilitation in Duluth Minnesota, it is protocol that if you say you have done any drugs upon entering the first thing they give you is atleast 15 brochures with "Marijuana Kills" on the front.
 
That there's a 'spiritual teacher' inside Ayahuasca/DMT+MAOI, an actual spirit god-like entity that will teach you something if you listen...

And other drugs don't do that, like heroin and LSD and whatnot, because they have some evil presence in them?

She was one of those South American people who use drugs like Peyote for religious reasons, but she was really off...
 
A drug counsellor told me that magic mushrooms are actually poisonous and all you are doing is poisoning yourself to get high, oh and that they grow on shit so you shouldn't eat them becuase you'll be eating shit.
