where and there
What plant should i grow that has psychedelic effects? I want to grow it indoors.
not marijuana though, nothing typical, something thats less common...

Something that most people will not be able to identify: Salvia.

Also, really easy/simple to grow.

You would have to be patient somewhat... :)
No shrooms are not plants ;) but nevertheless they are really fun to grow. Growkits are too expensive IMO though and doing it yourself requires some investments of money and energy. If you dedicate yourself a bit it's very doable, not saying it isn't... but don't start with it on a whim is all.

Salvia is messed up when smoked but tinctures might prove interesting indeed. Not at all a bad choice if you ask me.

As far as I know all or most plants that are really interesting enough are more or less exotic, that's what I call (sub)tropical I guess. If we're talking indoors there is not a lot that would actually grow inside but maybe you are willing to buy powerful light? Still, it would come across a little funny to me if you want to grow khat or kanna. :D

If you are asking the question you are, why not check some ethnobotanical webshops - those selling psychoactive plant material? Then see if they can be cultivated inside realistically.

There are different opinions on ethnobotanics, some categorically reject synthetic drugs and value the ritual, history of use and natural status of them. Don't fall into the fallacy that natural must mean safe though, think of the many poisons present in nature.
On the other hand there are a number of people (like me) that have rarely had psychoactive plants that were worth it. Kava is okay, kratom is nice but expensive, many other things are even less interesting IMO.

^ the experience, yes. Well known though.

You could grow baby woodrose or morning glory, etc. One's a climbing plant though if I remember correctly. Also garunteed to have seeds sans pesticides and all that, when they become available.

i do believe i forgot about this post....
but i do enjoy the cacti idea, perhaps i will follow through with that once i get some money
:)
thanks interweb peeps!

any thing but Conium maculatum

papaver somniferum is really tough and can stand the cold but i don't know of anyone that can get and active sap from them in USA. definitely worth a try and they are beautiful for the few days that the petals are on them.

I would suggest selectum tortuosum (Kanna) it is quite an underated plant. Combined with Cannabis it can have a very speedy effect. For me it is second only to Kratom in legal non psycedelic herbs. I would suggest Kratom but it is very hard to grow as it is usally quite week if home grown.

Just read that you want a psycedelic plant! I would go for Salvia.

Cactus trichocereus is the best choice, very easy to grow, just keep in mind no water it between end september until April or middle of March at least when the spring comes. It´s important to let the cactus grow outdoors with cold temperatures when they are strong enough. I have some pachanoi and peruvianus.

Cubensis mushrooms is another, grow very quickly but you have to learn how to do PF-tek, cassings.....

Also i´m going to plant Silene Capensis "the african dream root", it gives you very lucid dreams, stronger than Calea Zacatechichi another dream herb.

trichocereus cacti would be my suggestion for an attractive, easy to grow psychedelic plant. I'd also consider psychotria viridis. Dunno where you live, but you could probably grow it indoors or in a pot that could be moved inside during colder weather.
