I guess Donnie Darko, because he is not the typical hero - quite flawed and just trying to figure things out for himself. Also I'm infatuated with the actress that plays his girlfriend in the film - Jena Malone, (just finished watching Life As a House which renewed this ).

I guess though if I had to go with the macho hero tough guy character I would choose Indiana Jones (some of my favourite movies of all time).

I agree with 1234 about Fox Mulder as well. I wish I was that witty. He's a nerd but still fucking cool...

Donnie is great. I still watch it every now and then not so much for the story anymore but more for the interaction between the characters. I love the family - kind of dysfunctional, but true to life.

There is love and tension at the same time...
