BTW 78% diacetyl morphine. The majority of the remaining 22% is 3-monoacetyl morphine & 6-monoacetyl morphine. I asked them (the HR agency, not the Afghan producers).

Sure, a little 6-acetyl codeine, & 3-aetyl oripavine and some other alkaloids are all in there but the Afghans have got VERY good at purifying H. I mean, Southwest Asian 'white' heroin is usually over 90% pure retail. So other producers have reached such levels of purity. It's not unique.

There is an excellent paper which details how they take crude opium and extract the morphine (the phenolic -OH means it's amenable to quite basic chemistry achieving this). Then they just boil it in acetic anhydride for some hours. I will find it for you.

From their perspective, they don't want to be smuggling inactives.

Here in this part of Vic, its mainly china white, ive only come across "brown sugar" a few times.
Here $100 will get you anywere from 3 to 7 points.

Heroin in Australia has been good since my first foray 20 years ago. It's been what I feel is the same strength, with obviously stronger batches occasionally.
It used to be a mix of brown, beige or while #4 h. Now it's basically entirely beige #4. Though one time I had black tar in NSW!

All else I want to say is a life of living a h habit in these times is beyond impossibly hard and hardly worth it.

I used to see brown a lot and only once black tar but in the last 5-10 years it's all been white or beige #4 that is considerably pure.
I do miss the brown as I liked the effect and the rush but it seemed to be shorter lasting so I'm happy with the white even though it seems less euphoric and with less of a true high feeling.
