What is your current supplement regimen and why you use them

the fish oil i just switched to is 5 to 1 EPA to DHA. better for me brainz.

how much per day do you use?

my baby is getting me some carlson's fish oil lemon flavored. I hate taking pills I already take a few in the morning so I chug my fish oil. A 20 dollar bottle is equal to 500 gel caps (1g caps). I use one bottle a month.

I've been looking at Barlean's Organic Fish Oil. It seems like some quality stuff, though I'll admit I don't know too much. Not sure if I want an the 8 oz. oil/tsp a dose or the 250 caps/1000mg. They are both $20. hmm

if it tastes fishy then its crap product. I didnt know this for so long until I tried a quality fish oil supplement. No fish burps.

20$ should get you a pound of fish oil imo. 400-500g.

really? I'm concerned with quality and impurities. That sounds extremely cheap for being good, healthy fish oil. Any brands you'd recommend?

okay, now how the hell does one eat 3 teaspoons of creatine e.e. without wanting to throw it all straight back up? i mean, i can keep that shit down, but i have to mix it with one juice and down it in half mouthfuls washed down with another juice, and then i feel like i'm gonna explode until i burp a few times over the next hour.

fuckin disgusting.

I've always found it relatively tasteless. I used to just down it in water but then I discovered that I like packing it into 00 capsules more. Something about pills man :\
Veggie caps are real cheap. I would suggest them if the consistency or taste of the c.e.e. is bothersome. It certainly doesn't dissolve very well...

This is the fish oil I take:

Picked up some magnesium this past week. Gonna add the milk thistle and maybe l-carnitine in the next month hopefully.

ive sworn off all supplements.

re: theyre completely pointless, and some vitamin supplements have negative effects.

I agree man whole foods are much better.

an analogy is the difference between oil heat and wood heat. Oil heating is easier (supplements) but going the harder route is healthier and a more aesthetically pleasing life (whole food to satisfy nutrient requirements).

The only things I supplement with cannot be found in natural whole food sources in their pure form able to be introduced intramuscularly into the body. I buy pure chemical powders for these items and prepare them myself.

Vit D
DHA/EPA
creatine (used sparingly)
caffeine

Thinking about adding milk thistle, echinacea, magnesium, and an amino acid or two.

Tried the magnesium & echinacea, both aren't worth it. It's pretty tough to be deficient in magnesium and echinacea just plain doesn't work. Milk thistle is too expensive when one considers that plain H20 flushes toxins out just as well.

My current stack:

Whey
Vit D
DHA/EPA - (3:1 ratio)
Choline
Creatine

I am using caffeine rarely these days, usually just when I'm working. The only thing I interested in possibly adding now is L-Tyrosine.

lastly, how do they affect your recreational drug experience(s)?

I only take vitamin supplements after a heavy night out...maybe 2 days after.

The supplement I take is not really a supplement - a handful of goji berries everyday.

I drink green and rooibos tea pretty much everyday too.

The price, for sure. I don't have a lot of income.

I trust what you say is true though. I have never heard of that before, quite interesting. I willl consider buying it, especially if I could one day afford it. :D
Without going into too much detail there are at least 8 vitamin Es, at least 5 Vitamin A, 3 Vitamin D, and 3 Vitamin Ks(Not even getting into water soluble nutrients right now....)

So find out which works best for you.

But you can bet your bottom dollar that those "centrums" and "one-a-day" multis are CRAP throw them out now.

edit(for Captain H) For what it's worth, there's a health food store 'bout a mile from my house. They have methyl dots for lke $5 for a hundred. You should check around and see if any are in your neighboorhood

edit 2 - or if you are somehow absolutely unable to find 'em, send me a PM I'd be glad to mail you some :D

- Zinc (still trying to find out best salt or dose and ROA thereof)
Best form picolinate. Best dose? Well, that depends on age and phyiological status, and daily routine.(Does your daily routine involve loss of endogenous electrolyes?)
Start with NO MORE than 10mg/per(honestly just take a multi this will cover this and more) and analyze your diet to see if more is needed. Also be aware Zn competes with Mg, Fe, Cu, and other minerals for absorption.
And prolounged high intakes of zinc(and other minerals) will disrupt mineral stores and transport mechanisms in the body. Also be aware that long term high doses of zinc will likely cause immune response problems.
