What is the socially acceptable cut off age for playing video games?

It's probably a tad eccentric to continue to play videogames following death.

ebola

apparently you don't watch ATHF

billy witch doctor dot com gonna bring shake back to life, cause shake killed himself to torture meatwad in an ouiji board type video game, a game meatwad has grown out of

All the participants happened to be female as the study was unable to recruit a sufficient number of male volunteers who played video games for less than two hours a week.

best thing I've read all week.

@L2R, I think that guy's hitting on me :(

There shouldn't ever be a socially acceptable cut-off age, since video games are essentially generalized training tools that can sharpen reaction time and problem-solving skills. And they're fun! Why should we cut off such a valuable source of fun and education when we hit a certain age?

I also think they should make more jungle gyms for adults.

Now that is rich imho

I honestly stopped playing video games around the time I was 18-20, and I think this is a socially acceptable time - for me, at least. I don't really care if other people continue to play video games, but I just can't seem to find the time. however, I will enjoy some Madden or GTA - but every time I have last played video games I have done so with my younger cousins as sort of a neo "male bonding experience"

as an aside: for my job I teach a lot of younger kids how to play a musical instrument. sadly, I notice that most of the youth today are absolutely CONSUMED with playing video games. don't get me wrong, when I was a kid I loved me some video games, but that was also the time that I started to seriously pick up an instrument and want to rock out. I feel like video games > learning music for a lot of kids these days (god dammit, did I just say "kids these days"). it makes me sad because these kids WANT to better themselves, they just don't because they would rather become the Greatest Halo Player in the World

I'd put it in the nightclub class.
So 25.
Once you are over 25 you CAN NOT go out to nightclubs and should sell your games console. The good news is that stag do's and festivals and just maybe house parties are ok till you're 65. %)

awww shit! so now I'm not allowed to go out clubbing any more?! I don't think that's very fair - and I think that's a tad ridiculous ;)

Your professor might be correct that people put an age limit on it, but the gamers and the games do not reflect that view. Games are high-tech and interactive software is the new frontier in education.

Isn't the average gamer like 30 or something?

Traditional gaming is pretty high tech these days and requires a fair bit of money.

Then there are the social games like FarmVille and puzzle games like Bejeweled, etc that even non-tech oriented grandmas play.

So any age is socially acceptable.

The average age of a video gamer is ... #cuedrumroll

My older brother is 37 and a partner at a large law firm - he bought a sack of weed and took a week off work when GTA V was released.

Lol, glad to see you calling out droppers on his bullshit even if he posts in S+G.

^^ Lol

I'm 33 and would be playing video games *right now* if it weren't for the fact that it's day four of a rolling 42°C. heatwave and I'm paranoid of frying the playstation - strange fans I've never heard keep kicking in and making it sound like it's about to launch into orbit after an hour or so of intensive gameplay

It is an ongoing process and I will report back when findings are solid.

*Just pre-ordered new Splinter Cell game this week. =D

I'm a broke-arse gamer so am waiting for the price on Assassin's Creed Black Flag to collapse some more before buying it =D
