What is the most addictive substance?

It's interesting what people find addictive. I don't find alprazolam to be addictive at all, for example...at this point you couldn't pay me to take Xanax, unless I was having a severe panic attack or something. I was more of the kind of drug user who loved shooting meth, smoking the most high-grade headfuck sativa I could find, and eating an eighth of psilocybin mushrooms...loved the "visceral" drug experiences, I hate feeling "numb"

But some people are more into tranquilizers and opiates and that's cool too. We are all unique and special snowflakes :) ;)

Yes, indeed we are!
People have different addictions, some of them are immune and don't get hooked by doing drugs recreationally while at the same time they are destroying their lives, families, work and all because of gambling - for instance. It's not even a different type of drug but they do fall just like most of us have. Can't stop and lose everything over and over again.

Xanax is the most overrated garbage benzo I've ever laid my hands on. It's so blank feeling - no emotion s. Bars and the word "Xanax" remind me of 16 year olds selling bars in high school.

I also don't 100% agree with the phrase often used here "we all have different brain chemistry" implying that some drugs will affect others in a totally opposite way (not talking paradoxical effects). While humans generally have the same neurons and receptors in the brain , well, at least the majority, I think this phrase I mentioned is sillly.. becase the majority of drugs will affect everyone the same. Yes, even stimulants (ADHD meds)

Nicotine is super addictive I've done dirty shit for a 'baccy hit. benzos tied. meth next.

I would agree with Nicotine, after all despite of your efforts it’s the one thing you can do everyday, all the time forever. It’s legal, advertised. I was strong enough to quit opiates after using 20+ years, but nicotine is a total different game. Imagine giving up your after meal habit, not to mention after sex, after work, talk, and connect that to all of your life habits. It’s difficult indeed!

Xanax is so weird, like as far as I'm concerned it's actually less fun than weaker benzos like Valium, but yet I just want to keep eating bars after bars.

I think quite a few pages back I said the most addictive substance I used is benzos in general, well now I'd like to revise that to Xanax. Shit is crazy.

Don't knock Valium. That shit does it's job as prescribed. It can easily sneak up on you and black you out. To be fair, every benzodiazepine from weak to "strong" needs equal respect. under the correct circumstances, they can become a problem.

I hope you know Wilson Wilson, I wasn't giving you a hard time. Good time to make a point. I got in trouble taking Xanax.

opiates for sure morphine in particular never fucked with heroin because i know id be done for.
but i did almost drown because of valium one time, blacked out fishing

Because you can't stop doing it IME. It's like drinking salty water, you will always do more and more. That's why some users smoke MJ or IV at the end of the day so they can stop. It's crazy.

The most addictive substance ive used was a 'bath salt' called amped exuberance powder first taste was on 6/29/2012. Not sure which chemical was in that particular brand but im almost certain it was mdpv. That shit literally had me hooked on bump one. For 5 weeks leading up to a county wide dea raid on every store in my little town ( there were 4 in my town alone which literally only has a small walmart and a couple grocery chains; according to police estimated 1/10 in the town were said to be regular users. The stuff was everywhere all the methheads switched to that until it became officially illegal and eventually disappeared) I did that shit staying up 3-4 days no sleep, sleeping a day or two in between only eating maybe 1-2 times a week. By the end of my literal month long binge, id lost easily 30-40 pounds (was 5'11, 17 y/o, and weighed 170-180 before i started using). I had bruises half a foot wide, up and down my legs from being malnourished. My girl was an emt and found out what i was doing and that ended a 3 year relationship almost instantly. I had sold my 360, all my games, my tv, every dvd in my house, etc. for a stupidly low price.

Never in my life have i seen something take ahold of someone like mdpv (and other analogues of im sure when i would have to go with a diff brand other than amped) did me. The scariest part is through all the shadow people, paranoia, extremely bad health, etc. is I wouldnt hesitate to do that shit right now given the opportunity. If it wouldnt have been for the seizure and arrest of all involved in the sale of that evil stuff I would without a doubt be dead or at the very least have severe brain damage and lasting psychosis.

I could never imagined you'd get all of that from bath salts.

For me it has always been the opiates/benzo combo. Sometimes you need benzos to deal with the opiate withdrawals never the the opposite, at least not from a medical point of view. However I knew from the beginning that would only work while I had benzo's medical prescriptions, and that was for 1-2 months. I wanted to get out and really to stay out so no more. I still dream about it. Can't say I did not have intense cravings, just tried to cope with them in different ways.

Coke. The only thing to do on coke is more fucking coke, and go till you either run out of coke, or life.

man, kratom. Not in terms of intensity, but in terms of how I can kick it, multiple times, go through pretty hellish w/d's and then just "accidentally" end up taking it daily again. it's crazy.

Bath salts - or rather MDPV - was by far the most destructive drug I ever got into a habit of using. Nearly destroyed me... Several times even as I've gotten clean then relapsed like a fool thinking things would be different that time around.

This is a tricky one..

- Methamphetamine... so frigging addictive "due to euphoria" its not even funny

- Heroin... all u opiate users know what im talking about

- Cigs..

- SSRIs... giving them up would be hell

- saved the best "or worst" till last.. benzodiazepines... seems like im gonna be addicted for life "and the problem is that im not complaining"

Cheers

Methamphetamine is definitely the most classically "addictive" because no other substance or state can raise global dopamine levels to 1500x the levels of sex. It's catastrophic and global damage also leads the horse back to water over and over again. The PAWS of it can leave a user in a daze for well over 6 months while opiates, you quit after 40 years and you're going to be okay after a couple months back to 100%.

Coke is the most fiendish, I can't fucking stop with coke, the 45 minute timer is maddening when you have a supply. Crack and IV coke are moltov cocktails to your psychotropic regions in a dry spell.

What do you mean with benzo's? The withdrawal is deadly, but don't most users that detox make it out alright?

Coke hands down youre the fucking man with it never really cared for ice though my mother ruined a lot of it for me

Anxiety & Panic Attacks in my case are just crippling... my life with benzos is much better even though im aware of the probable outcome if i had to stop CT..

Benzodiazepines withdrawals are terrible because it's like your brain suffers as much as your body- or worst. We get used to live without anxiety and in 2-3 days the feelings are overwhelming.

As for the most addictive drug we can't underestimate Meth. as it provides a great quantity of dopamine and it can make you quite functional. But IME, there's nothing worse than heroin or methadone.
