The bathroom.

I live with my boyfriend and his son, and seriously, living with a 30 year old and 7 year old boy equals a disgusting bathroom. He needs to teach his son to aim.

I cleaned the bathroom once and was so disgusted I got pissed and said no more, the bathroom is HIS job!

The laundry.

I live with my dad (and his wife) and the laundry is always messy, clothes not in the laundry basket, old newspapers on the floor, buckets everywhere. It really annoys me, But when i clean it, they just mess it again so i've given up. It's a small room anyway

my bedroom.

i don't consider it 'mine' except for the bed. my b/f has his closet in there and i let him have that bathroom. so, i feel like i'm sleeping in a teeny bachelor pad because it's covered with clothes dirty and clean (who knows which is which) cat toys, lint, and shoes.

our bathroom is used by the two of us and the cat (her litter and food and water). it needs to be cleaned weekly.

our bedroom isn't bad. i'm neater there than the wife, but her desk is in there and it's only a bit messier than my desk downstairs. neither of us have a habit of putting clothes on the floor. i've never done that.

The kid's room.

All of the house gets pretty messy, but their room is usually the worst.

This is the cleanest my apartment has been since I moved in

My bedroom is my living room is my dining room is my kitchen is my closet. The joys of a studio apartment

Same for me. I tended to keep my apartment more neat when I had roommates out of respect for sharing a living space.

Anyone else reading these threads look around and think, "Gosh, I really need to clean"? lol

the kitchen but only because i hate cleaning the kitchen. doing dishes by hand has to be the shittiest job ever, only laundry is second to that.

i live in a studio apt with my 4 y/o daughter so the areas that are occupied by her toys are pretty messy but i try to keep up with the house as much as i can. since everything is connected, if one area is a mess it makes the entire house look like shit. i actually went on a huge cleaning spree for chinese new year (as i do every year) and since i got it super sparkly i've been trying to keep up on it (no clothes laying about, doing dishes right after i dirty them, doing laundry once there is enough for a load instead of waiting 6-7 weeks to wash 10-11 loads :o). i actually feel a lot better when my house is clean. now i just need to find some sort of method for keeping the baby's toys organized :|

This is how our home looks right now. Unkempt. This weekend we clean. These photos really do not show the dirt and fur tumbleweeds on the floors.

Does anyone have a housekeeper? I am thinking about getting one to come in once a week. Twice if we can afford it.

my roomates room
mine is kinda messy with clothes, but i dont eat in there so no dirty dishes. i only see my roomates room every couple months and it blows my mind.8o

My bedroom. It's a fucking mess. Empty pill bottles, cans, bottles and the like all over the place. The place looks like a drug den.

I wash the floors but thats about it.

I voted for the garage, as their is an abundance of spider webs, dust, old tires, rusty tools, broken lawn mowers, and other assorted junk (luckily the cars still manage to fit in there!).

I can't believe that everyone else has clean garages! It has to be the EASIEST room in the house to neglect IMO...

I've just went into my oldest son's room - who's away working in Italy at the moment... could not believe the mess and was right in my hunch that that's were lots of plates, cups etc were hiding. What a shit hole! 8o

I'd asked him to tidy it before going, but as usal my plea fell on deaf ears....

some of us don't have garages to keep dirty!

I don't have a garage either. I wish I did to keep my car free of snow, ice, and freezing cold. Auto-start installation on my vehicles is a must.

Agreed.
I hate dishes. I do them- but I can't stand it- I like cleaning the rest of the kitchen because I always feel so satisfied when the counters and floor are all clean....But the dishes are my worst enemy. My husband likes to cook -he makes big messes and uses every pot and pan he can find-so once the kitchen is clean-its a mess again.

kitchen... I guess because I wasn't raised having to cook or do dishes or anything. I had a sink full of dirty moldy dishes and the counters were covered in bullshit. Stuff on the floor. I just didn't care. I'd just use paper plates plastic forks plastic cups and the microwave or toaster oven, and I was cool with that. Then the kitchen got a major leak and now it's completely torn out, just a completely empty space with the drywall torn down and everything.

Rest of the house is actually like obsessively clean. I vacuum and dust daily. I just had no interest in keeping the kitchen up to par for some reason. When I get it rebuilt though I'll make sure to keep it real basic and anything I know I'll neglect will be left out. That's been my strategy for keeping everything else clean :)

My rommmate and I are both really messy.... we have a two bedroom apartment with one bathroom and living room/kitchen. The living room is pretty clean because we're both messy but try to pretend outside of our rooms that we're clean... so the living room is probably the cleanest, kitchen being second and bathroom being third.

The girl I'm seeing is kinda o.c.d. and she came over last night and I made her dinner and afterward she cleaned ALL of my dishes. I told her I would get around to it but apparently "I don't do it right" :\:D
