What is the best way to administer Xanax?

I was wondering if you snort Xanax would it make the onset faster and more intense; like with drugs such as Adderall??

why does everyone think that just because its a pill and you can crush it up and snort it, it will hit you faster.

Xanax kicks in 15-20 minutes by the time you get your razor blade and your straw and your dollar bill and all that bull shit crush it put it in a line you spent half the time its going to take the kick in the other half is about 5-10 minutes or so before you start feeling the effects. so you just wasted your time. Reason #1

Reason #2 most of it is going to drip down your throat and your going to end up swallowing it anyway so why snort it right?

Reason #3 if you take the pill your taking 100% of the drug right but when you crush it and the powder gets on the blade and the straw and the table and all that shit your probably getting 85-90% of the drug.

Reason #4 ITS JUST EASIER WATER + PILL THEN SWALLOW OR IF YOU WANT PUT IT UNDER YOUR TONGUE AND DO IT SUB LINGUALLY.
 
If your stomach is fucked as shit to the point where you can't keep *anything* down, plug that shit. Dissolve it an shove it up there with a needle-less syringe. Works about the same as oral in my experience with a bit of a qucker onset, but I don't use xanax for recreational purposes so I can't speak to that (1.5mg max/dose)
 
The bioavailability of Alprazolam is actually lower if insufflated instead of ingested orally, so it is actually a waste of Xanax if you try and snort it. Oral is definately the best way to go with it, aside from maybe plugging as suggested above. I am unsure of the bioavailability via this route, but I can't imagine it being much higher, if at all, than that of oral use.
 
Well the best way to administer is obviously IV but sublingual is second best (well I'm sure plugging is equal but..[No pun intended]). When I used that's how I admined all my benzos.

Don't snort it.
 
i loved to snort or shoot drugs but with xanax i never would because i read about the bio's and all and the dangers of shooting pills, so my fav way was parrachuting crushing them and putting them in a little bit of toilet paper or something and swallow, or sublingual, i tried to do xanax by plugging but found it worked same way orally, so try drinking gf juice or tagamet first then on empty stomache parachute
 
could anyone give any figures ( even if they are just guestimates) on how much more effectiant sublingual xanax is over oral. last night was the first time i ever let xanies sit under my tongue and dissolve but i only took 1.0mg SL and .5 oral and it seemed more intense than my typical 2.5mg oral dose but im not sure it wasnt placebo or the fact that it has been a week or two since i've last used Xanax but even then im not a daily user usually once or twice everyother week.

also how long are you suppossed to let it sit under your tongue? until it dissolves and then swallow the chalky spit? or do you keep going ?
 
wow thats rude chrisdahl, he was only asking a question and you say that, i dont usually like to confront anyone but the guy only was asking, and most people that use drugs want the faster and stronger onset , there is no reason for you to say that
 
Just swallowing xanax works. It kicks in quickly, has a high B/A and its so much easier than poking a hole in your arm with a small screwdriver and trying to funnel the crushed powder in!

No its not higher, it *may * kick in a bit faster. Xanax only takes 15 minutes or so to start working orally, it wouldnt be much faster, if any than that. Sublingually taking something like clonazapam, aka Klonopin, is more useful, as it:
A) can take a couple hours to reach peak theraputic levels in the blood
B) tastes like a mint

BUT to answer the how long question, till it dissapears, silly.
 
everyone always says that snorting it is a waste but for me it hits harder and feels just amazing. when i swallow it it doesnt feel as good.
however, snorting it often can fuck up your nose pretty bad. make sure if you snort it to make really small lines and grind it up so its a really fine powder otherwise you'll fuck up your nose pretty bad.
 
I know this is a very dumb question but what the he** is "Parachuting"?
I am a little new to this, i used to think that there was only one way to take a pill before. lol
