Misc What is the best antipsychotic medication to "stop a bad shroom trip"?

Yeah no I wasn't trying to compare it to APs but I had heard people say it dulls a trip and have experienced the same.
It would dull the trip as any opioid would, assuming you have no tolerance, but this is simply anecdotal and likely suggestability.

There is zero evidence kratom kills trips or acts as an effective 5HT2a antagonist... people are referencing one single study which simply "guesses" that it could have potential in that area. It doesn't. There are years of medical studies documenting the opposite, about how kratom causes psychosis.

Either way, people should never use kratom to kill a trip. I tried that once and had a psychosis. Let me spare others the pain of that experience. In terms of HR, it's not in the safe zone.

I've got seroquel and benzos but I got a tolerance to benzos as I'm prescribed a daily dose so any other options anyone can suggest would be fantastic?

Sorry for chiming in so late, I guess your trip is long over but here is my advice anyway.
Unless it’s extremely serious, I would avoid antipsychotics as even the atypical ones can I have nasty side effects and don’t always work that well anyway from what I’ve heard.
As an alternative to benzos, You could try the antihistamine/antiserotonergic drug cyproheptadine. it’s a very strong antagonist of the 5HT2A receptor, meaning it should theoretically directly block the effects of psychedelics. The strong blockade of brain histamine signalling by cyproheptadine can also produce heavy sedation and promote deep sleep, which should also help accelerate the ending of the trip

None.
You're better off riding out the experience. It lasts maybe 3 hours from dose to finish depending on how much you took.
So if it's a matter that you took too much, dial it down in a second go at it.
Pot helped ground me a little on my first time on shrooms. I smoked so much. And then passed out eventually.

Yeah, I've had bad trips to the point of vomiting or dry heaving. Probably low grade stuff.
Antipsychotics won't stop that. AND being on Invega Sustenna maintenance, It doesn't stop a trip let alone a bad trip.
I think that's God's intent, psychedelics to be much more powerful than any pharmaceutical. *hand waving*

not necessarily.
Purity is also a factor.
Like let's say you have 99.9% LSD. vs one with a lot of impurities.
Mushies are different because they grow. And that's the thread were on. apologies.
But mushies can have high levels of norbaecystein (sp) and the un-N-methyl version of psilocybin which is theorized to cause bad trips.

I thought that OP had a brilliant question.

Off topic? I'm surprised that more acid heads don't carry the common antidotes in the form of sedatives and B-vitamins. Given how frequent bad trips are and how well attested those sorts of things are to relieve symptoms?

Although I do understand that on one hand the powers that be have made it difficult for people in many areas to reliably stock sedatives. Not much that we can do about that.

Hands down…. Mirtazapine aka Remeron. Just 15mg cancels/stops a strong LSD or DOC trip. I used to use it if I wanted to trip just for a few hours and not all day. Minimal side effects (just a little sedation).

One time before an extended family dinner meetup I accidentally took 2ct4 instead of 2-FMA… started tripping balls…Took half a remeron pill and 30-45 minutes later the trip just ends. Works great.

Last time during the aftermath of a trip. Which imo lasted a bit to long.

In my med box there Benzo's, which hardly overpower Lysergic's. And taking a handful just to force sleep, with grogginess the next day, also feels a bit wrong.

A while back on the ground I found a bag with a 1 mg and 5 mg Olanzapine pill. And adding 1 mg Olanzapine to my Benzodiazepine did the job, fell asleep. finally and woke up kinda refreshed. Kinda surprised me.
Finding drugs laying on the ground?

I didn't know that. I take remeron every night. Didn't know it could negate a trip like that, I always used quetiapine or a benzodiazepine.

Actually I’m not sure if it will work the same if you are taking it daily - but i know if you aren’t taking it at all and then take it to end a trip it works perfectly

Always, is that rare? Me staring at the ground to avoid dog shit.

Did a drug detector develope in my brain? Or are these intoxicated people just loosing their stash, which is not uncommon.
Good example cleaning up after a party you find a lot of lost drugs, two friends that hosted them told me. That was what the cleaning was about. Leaving the place more clean then upon arrival a positiv side effect.

My founds, coincedence?, where all after mid 2018. Before that it was just money or gold:

PonyPack of Cocaine, Tramadol blister containing a few 2 times, some nice Weed in neon green bag, a bag with 1 and 1/2 MehDMA pills [the whole one containing 180/ 220 mg but didt do much] and last time the Olanzapine a part of a medical strip sealed, along with her other med, 1 Lorazepam 2.5 mg [name/ date of birth are on the plastic].

The sedative antihistamine hydroxyzine (Atarax) also blocks 5-HT2A receptors and will make a psychedelic trip milder without risk of akathisia and other potential dangerous side effects of antipsychotics. Maybe that with a small benzodiazepine dose.
