What god(s) do you worship by your actions?

My aunt used to dig small handfuls of hamburger from a package and eat it. This really used to make me pause in wonderment and yuck. She was my favorite aunt and has passed some years ago (not from raw burger).
Yeah, I've actually done that a couple times and I've known others who do it often.
We've been lucky so far.
The grinding process incorporates air and whatever is floating in it into the product. Then, in the package, it has time to...ahhh...marinate?
It is risky.

The grinding process
Without doubt this processing would have to be the bigest culprit of introducing pathogens and such.
Maybe I have just been programmed well to not have a taste for it. I know I have been sick from food many times and am quite against eating out all the time (rarely) because the odds are... especially these days my coworkers are not the most hygenic. Nothing personal but gen shit like sanitizer, washing hands or changing gloves, clean towels, clear work area just the basics, ya know? Nobody gives a fuck anymore. lol
Oh... hamburger. I like it at least med well. On a bun with minimum mayo and catsup. :)

I guess that raw it's closest to our own flesh that we try to convert the cow into after eating? Microbes aside it sound sensible enough, it's just not for me either, I feel sorry for the animals I cook as it is. At least by the time I eat them they've been processed to be more compatible with societal expectations. My aunt used to get half a goat and hang it on the balcony until my uncle butchered the thing to go in the freezer, not sure I could have managed that, lol.

Ya know, as much as I go on about nuturing nature I rarely think about the "products" I consume. h a My only issue is from killing because I can.
If one were brought up butchering one would be a butcher. sounds kinda creepy now. lol
I do hate to see any innocent suffer. Guess innocent would be a perspective, too. Shit is confusing af.

My grandad was a farmer and I remember him killing baby rats from a nest in the hedge with a spade. Us kids were hanging off him trying to stop him, but he was right, too close to the house, needed done. I was shocked because he was such a gentle person, but we'd raised animals for slaughter for generations, no bother to him at all. I'm just a city girl who loves nature, especially the family of sparrows that my husband has been feeding, five fledglings mobbing mom and dad at every opportunity, so funny watching them playing through the bushes and trees.

That's good that you feel sorry for the animals, that you eat. Most of the people even don't think about it.You know the tribal people pray over the corpse of killed animal, talking to him that they need his flesh to survive and one day they be same food for worms maintaining the order of existence. Now this all gone-countless farms filled with animals feeded with shitty food and antibiotics, endless cuttings and fires in the rainforest to clean land for monoculture farming like palm trees for oil, which weaken the soil very quick.....sad man:(

My grandfather owned a farm when I was growing up and I was sent off to his farm each summer from the the time I was around 4 or 5 y/o until I was old enough to get a work permit and get a job elsewhere. When I watched my grandfather kill a chicken for us to eat for the first time I was overwhelmed. At that young age I began to eat no flesh until I was just about in puberty. It was a real eye opener for me.

I eat and enjoy meat now, but I definitely don't take it for granted and never waste any. The circle of life goes on.

I truly love animals but I'm also an unapologetic omnivore. Humans are meant to eat all kinds of things-- including meat. Just look at the teeth in your mouth for proof.

That said, I believe animals should be raised in happy/healthy environments and should be killed as humanely as possible. I do not eat veal for this reason.

Sadly, modern factory farming and slaughtering practices are often anything but humane. I try to buy products from responsible companies but I'm sure I miss a lot. That does bother me.

I don't eat nearly as much meat as I used to. In my family we ate meat at EVERY meal, 7 days a week. I also eat very little beef these days-- partly because it's expensive and partly because beef production is terrible for the environment.

i worked at foster farms for a stint as a temp in oregon, they gave us a tour so to speak, one area was called the "blood tunnel" a slang term ,not the rendering part, oh i dont know maybe so, and was told one fellow worked in there day in and day out for decades upon decades he was near mythical, i was moved around where needed, from jamming the giblets, neck back into the chickens as fast as possible to slapping strips into the trays, i saw crazy things, but one thing i did notice how clean is was kept, they would stop us all and hose and inspectors poking and prodding, it was all creepy to me, so i feel you, but yes, its confusing as fuck, but im a tree hugger that worked wood mills, and enjoy vege-burgers with bacon

Complete with a chick if you look closely
The beautiful colour is a cross between hens & chicks decorative dried pods (red/purple) and afghan gigantiums (lilac/white)
So I have gigantiums with chicks and feel very pleased with myself ;)

Or is the poppy not really the god you meant?

Beautiful. Here in rural areas there are plenty of various colours.Besides the river banks,in the gardens.....it grows like a weed summer months. They are not pharmagrade ofcourse, but are beautiful like flowers, but relatively short lived. The petals falling after no more, than a week. The pod have nothing compared like potency of pharmaceutical ones.May be around 5 percent active ingredient....the real ones got close to 20

The gods humanity already hates. That saves time (mostly), energy (yes & no, mostly yeah), freight (wildly variable).

I like the calm sincere gods =/\

So I see a lot of people believe in god or gods and are quite exspressive in their feelings/thoughts on the matter. All seem convinced, justified and devout to these beliefs; which is as it should be in religion, I suppose.
I am of the opinion that a believer of a god will follow the tenets thereof and act out these basic beliefs in their every day lives.
Most would agree that worshipping god would have them be kind, show mercy and help others who are down by whatever means at hand... to love, in other words.
For those belivers here at bl; what god would your actions equate to? Not talking about what we say, preach or believe when we are on about or faiths but our deeds, actions and thoughts when faced with others who may be in dire straights?
Are you patient, kind and giving?
Do you try to wiggle something out of the one in need to advance your own agenda?
Do your actions scream selfishness or selflessness?
What kind of fruit do you exhibit in real life? The fruit in nature reveals the true identity of the plant, tree or species: A cat has kittens not rhinos and a lemon tree lemons not kiwis.
So.......

Good question! I'd be whichever god is a hermit 90% of the time but comes out of his cave to share wisdom and help others who are open hearted and willing to share loving kindness, as well as those who show interest in what I know instead of alienating me for being wise. Oh, and to get groceries. I spend so much of my time learning that I'm convinced if this were the pre-internet era, my home would be wall to wall books. Thank god for e-books that can all fit onto my tablet. Even though my home is physically in the core of a city, I live on the social periphery. I tried for years to not be that way but it just happens by default. Mostly because I have severe illness that keeps me imprisoned. I think it will always be this way. I have been so "off the grid" that reintegration with mainstream society is impossible for me at this point. The confinement of having to think/act according to a group's rules would cause intense anxiety. For the same reason, I can't tolerate roommates. I tried that about 4 or 5 times I and can't live with other human beings. Their unaddressed crazy makes me crazy. I'm a very niche creature. Honestly I don't know how I'm even alive. I feel like that animal you find in a rainforest that is living on top of a fungus that's living on a tree that's living in a specific 15 square kilometer patch where only those trees can grow; and if someone came in and cut down those 15 square kilometers, I would be doomed. My niche is so narrow that if society shifts in a minor unfavourable way, I will go extinct.

In classical astrology, I seem to be the most like Saturn as much as I'm loathe to admit it... except without the hard-edged personality. My home surroundings are as aesthetically beautiful as I can make them, with lots of plants, crystals, colourful art, wall hangings, medicinal herbs (I have a full apothecary in my home), altars to various beings, science projects (I'm always looking under the microscope or practicing chemical reactions), etc. So although I'm a hermit, my home environment is like the wizard's tower. So... not quite Saturnian. Maybe Saturn and Venus combined. The secrets of the universe and spiritual matters are more important to me than other worldly concerns. I relate to Thoth from ancient Egypt as well.

If anyone knows any other gods off the top of their head that they thought of when they read this, I'd love to know. I'm not versed in a lot of traditional pantheons.
