What do you think of Psytrance (/GOA) ?

Its not that I hate it per se, but I'm not really a dancer. I've been in and out of bands since I was 12 so I pretty much gravitated to non-electronic music. I do like some shpongle every once in awhile :)
 
I feel you man, but for me, when I hear something like this, I actually can't help but start bouncing around like a seizing dog with rabies or some crazy shit like that.
 
Knowledge is power. I hope to one day be able to tell the difference between house and hardcore. Its all just 'techno' to me lol. Maybe I'll start checking out some raves or something. I dig the energy and vibes but cant get into the music. Maybe some mdma will do the trick
 
if i'm on a stimulant, nothing can really beat trance music. if i'm not on a stimulant, i realize it's pretty shallow music. anybody who's ever dabbled in music production knows how simple it often is.
 
I recently downloaded some set off some guys website its tited "M&Ms - The ayahuasca mix" and it is just all over the place. Ranging from drone , to sybient, to goa, to actual icaros from shamen and to many other unclasifiable genres. Very good shit.

Usually Im more of a drumfunk enthusiast. I DJ dnb, house, breaks, hip hop, and pretty much everything.

I have only recently been getting into psytrance. Ever since I extracted some DMT I have been gravitating towards psytrance and its more ambient derivitives.

Both of those artists happen to be favorites of mine and how I forgot to mention them is beyond me..

Both very different styles but OH SOOO GOOOOD!

Also Propyl, have you listened to Hypnagog yet? It's Terrafractyls slower chill side :)

nice tracks! i didn't know these artists before, but it's good to know that there's still people producing good fullon, that's worlds apart from that cheesy isreali (and isreali-style) shit we get bombarded with at parties.
 
Ha, laughing at people who think psy is 'easy' or simple to make- trust me, it ain't. Maybe I need to teach yall a lesson??? :D

i've once made a cheap, cliché fullon track using only presets in 6 hours =D
but i agree that making good psy is anything but easy.

Haven't heard of both of those artists yet, I love finding new music :)

I've been bangin Eat Static alot lately too, one of my favorites: Trantaloid!
 
I love psytrance a lot, both sober and on E.
With LSD the fast beats and the often darker emotional payload are dangerous to me.
But GOA is absolutely great on 2c-e which gives me enough energy and makes me dance with an intensity and indulgence that I could never reach without.
 
Psy\Goa Trance is so much more than just dancing... But dancing is very nice :) Unfortunately I haven't found any good trance since 2000 :(
