OK so I know generalizing and stereotyping is not good but most stereotypes do have some basis in reality. I'm going to make this thread anyway. Hopefully no one's feelings get too hurt.

It's actually a tough question.

Is it LSD people? All of the mythology surrounding the actual production/distribution process automatically means most consumers don't know shit and often are intentionally misled for various reasons.
Is it opioid people? They call it dope for a reason..
Is it meth people? I call em crazy but most meth users I've met were not stupid people.
Is it disassociatives?
Is it cocaine people? I see people of all walks of life doing/addicted to cocaine.
RC people? Buying random novel chemicals from strangers over the internet is certainly not without risk.
Other drugs?

As far as I am concerned we're all fair targets in this convo. There are no right or wrong answers. I just mainly curious other people's thoughts on the topic.

Personally I'm gonna say it's kratom people. I've never seen people so adamantly staunch about misinformation although it is getting better I feel.

I can't tell you how many times I've been in a conversation with someone and they say

"Well Kratom saved my life and some guy at the head shop told me so and so, so its true"
"No you're just an idiot who not only bought their product, you bought their lies too."

I've said it before.. a lot of people want to believe something regardless of the facts/evidence, and let's face it. There are a lot of "Believers" of kratom. In their defense, kratom manufacturers tend to be notoriously dishonest, and the media isn't any better at providing factual information. Also it's an incredibly complex plant chemistry wise so there is A LOT of info to know about it.

Examples: I suspect that a significant percentage of kratom users don't even know what mitragynine is. There are people on this forum who believe 7-OH is entirely synthetic and not found in the plant etc. There are people who still believe that the color of the vein is dictated by "strain" and not age. Obviously, people think it's not addictive because they buying it in a gas station. Shit, a lot of people don't even think it's an opioid. Some people refuse to believe it's an opioid, even if you were to show them binding data as a MOR agonist.

My close 2nd (mostly joking here), would be half the people in the "Whats wrong with MDMA" thread. I'm kidding cuz there's a lot of smart people in that thread. But there's a lot of people who want to believe and just completely ignore any evidence presented to them that's contrary to their belief.

--Note**
I made separate categories for LSD and other psychedelics as well as Opioids and Kratom, because the cultures between fentanyl users and kratoms users is generally very different. Less so than LSD vs other psychedelics, but there's a lot of LSD hippies who will probably never touch something like 2C-B.

I’m going to go with the pretentious pothead.

Speaking of unodelacosa vs vash445, it has been a while since I read that thread. What are your thoughts on MDMA today? I only started rolling a few years ago, so I cannot really compare it to 20 years ago. I imagine it is about the same, though I could be wrong.

Yeah I guess I didn't even mention the pretentious pot heads. I remember walking into a dispensary a while back and the budtender was telling me that rosin is the most potent form of THC possible. I tried to explain that rosin is a tasty mix of THC/a and terpenes, but the distillate right next to the rosin was actually more potent. They replied its made with chemicals and is therefore more impure.... I literally walked out w/o buying anything because these people were idiots if not liars.

You cant argue with some people, especially when it's their job to sell products. They are just selling products and have no idea of what they actually selling.

I'm in the camp that MDMA today is the same as MDMA was in the early 80's for the most part and that most people who complain have changed neurologically over time. The chemical hasn't changed, and all the current synthesis still go through the same intermediate.
We're never going to be 18 again being in love for the first time, when raves were new and rebellious and exciting. The MDMA hasn't changed. The vibe and culture has because its 2026 and not 1981 and people are just jaded when they 50 and reminiscing about early rolls.

But for real I do not want to focus on that in this thread unless you really think MDMA users are the most uneducated which is a valid opinion. You are welcome to revisit the thread, which I've tried to kill scientifically many times. But theres always going to be some kid saying well I gave MehDma blah blah blah. It's an immortal thread of speculation from people who don't have any experience with the chemistry.
