what do you think girls

It might be hard to get girls while ON the job ... but your line of work likely won't unattract girls. Plus, like others have said, you're only 17. To have a good job that makes $10/hr (IDK minimum wage in your area, but it's likely under that) ... that's a lot for someone who is only 17!
Plus ... you work your way to the top, right? You're starting out young. But you can keep moving up in the company, eventually. It's not like you'll be making $10/hr for the rest of your life! If you're 40 and still doing the same thing ... that would be a different scenario.
But my job, I work 35-44 hrs/week, make a bit over minimum wage. It would suck if I was in this job at age 40 but at my age (22), it's pretty good. Plus I know that, in a little bit, I'll likely have a good salaried full time position.

and yeah i dont get many numbers while picking up garbage haha. and i dont plan on sticking to garbage..maybe for a year or so.
i wanna be a marine or in the army, but i may have trouble because of tattoos, past drug use, record, ect...
if all else fails, im gonna get a GED and college credits to go to the police academy. i wanna help people

But what do you do for work? and if your 22 putting in all those hours...your bound to be advanced. Your young too and seems like you put a good weeks work in
 
You're young as hell, man. It's awesome that you're working at all-and a difficult job at that. Pays well, too. I'm 27 years old and so many dudes I know can barely hold down any job at all.

Honestly who cares what girls think 'right now' anyway. In a few years you'll be doing great -money in the bank and a decent start for a resume. Just keep doing what you're doing as LONG as you're alright with it.

Yeah, done college, and it's office/payroll work. But it's just the lower level stuff for now. More than minimum wage here (min wage is 10.25) but still ... putting my time in before I can get the job I really want (which will be almost guaranteed if I keep up what I'm doing). Taking some more college courses too, just so there is always room for advancement.

But yeah, why not start working towards your GED now, while you're doing the garbage job? Why not? It may keep you busy ... but might as well do it now rather than leave it til later!! :)

and llama thats awesome :) Its not like it was handed to you, i bet you worked your ass off to qualify for the position you want
im gonna get my GED, and take classes at a community college. since i work mornings, i can take some afternoon/night classes. Criminal justice is my plan.
Need at least 15 credits before i qualify for The Marines
 
I did it for a few years. It's actually peaceful, you really don't have to deal with anyone. Plus, you can score cool shit that people throw away. Used to find like 20 dollars worth of change in peoples couches....Find a lot of nasty shit too though... It's the perfect job for a junky/burnout/alcoholic....Good exercise too
 
If you were in your late 30's and about to go on a date with a woman who was making a 100k, then I'd be doubtful about your chances. But 17? Fuck, man. Sweet job to have then. Good times ahead...

For me it wouldn't change a thing, if I like you, idc what you do.

and yeah god i love the job man. get to be outside, and im always home before 12

and ty sconnie. good to know girls wouldnt mind a garbage man haha

edit- and id like to know where the land of beer and cheese is. if i save up enough i might move there
 
^they drug test for just the people picking up the garbage...Where I worked it was only the drivers...Its good motivation to stay away from the drugs, anyway...That was one of my favorite jobs, time definitely went by quick..

try doing it full blown dopesick! lol....It gets rough, but if you get yourself some dickies overalls and earmuffs, you'll be straight...in the early morning it sucks, but once you get moving you warm up....sometimes when people die, people just put a drawer full of scripts out on the curb, thats always cool! lol....For $10 hr with no bills, you should be able to save for a place in no time!

and if you're careful, you don't have to wear the garbage either!

i got 120 saved from my first check. probably gonna spend about 20 more

so like 100-150 a week should be a decent savings?
i mean after a year i could have anywhere from 4800 - and up...not too bad
