What do you know about Berlin?

Somebody PM'd me about Berlin the other day but when I tried to reply their inbox was full.

I can't remember who it was not but - I didn't club or use and RC's so can't help.

yup, bearlove, that was probably me that sent you that pm, though i dont really have a full inbox so i think i could recieve any replies... anyways besides the point.

berlin was AWESOME!
seriously, i had the most wonderful of times, unexpectedly so even, and most part even without the aid of any additional substances...

ill write up a more complete report later on if anyone cares, but suffice to say that ive gone out almost every night and if you are an electronic music fan then berlin is where its at.

Reviving this thread, will be in berlin over New Years. Any suggestions with regards the best events in town? I believe Brandenburg will be quite packed and crowded, was looking for more an electro/techno club scene. I will be booking an apartment in Kreuzberg (near Watergate Club), so hopefully there will be plenty of nightlife there. WIll definitely be freezing cold, but hopefully the atmosphere will be quite lively. Also hoping to perhaps score some party stuff, although no personal contacts.
 
Not much, other than it seems I'm going there in the beginning of January so I'm kind of in the same boat as you.
According to my German friend Friedrichshain is a good area to go to... that's about the limit of my knowledge at the moment.

Lots of great clubs and cafes/bars. Perhaps U-bahn to Frankenfurter Tor and move down through F-Hain towards Warschauer Str. (East-side gallery nearby), over lovely bridge to Kreuzberg and Gorlitzer :|

Try to find the old GDR industrial estate (you'll either wander into it, or miss it - down some steps before Warschauer U-Bahn crossing from the East) :D

Neukoln and Wedding are worth checking out - a bit rough round the edges, but getting more interesting. Prenzlauer-Berg (Mauerpark) is worth a visit :)

Yes I've heard Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is where the clubs are happening. Still don't know what to do for NYs though, there seems to be so many parties going on!

heh every weekend there seems like a big party... im sure you will find something once you get there. the best fun is always the one you havent planned for...
