Putting my life/work troubles to one side for a minute.

I'm going to Berlin, two weeks today! Fucking yas! Need to get the fuck up out of here for a bit, even if it is only for 8 days.

So, what's the script with Berlin? I've never been before. Mainly going to be looking to get fucking wasted & listen to lots of techno. We've got a big fuck off apartment booked so accommodation is more than sorted. Just need to work out the script with partying like fuck.

What are the drugs like over there? Weed, MD/pills & coke mainly (my main concern being the weed & the ching, not too bothered about pills tbh). How easy are they to get a hold of? Supposed to have a local contact through my mate's bird but I'm not 100% relying on this. Knowing our luck the guy will be away that week or something lol.

Where's worth going? Other than the obvious like Tresor, Berghain etc
 
The city is absolutely flooded with Amsterdam grade weed and hash. Just go to any headshop with students or hippy types outside and they'll sort you out a bang on 8th of A+ weed in no time. I wasn't there long so I never got round to any partying though, so I don't know which clubs are good or how to get any harder drugs. Do go to the German Historical Museum though! It is easily the best museum i've ever been to. The Natural History Museum in London probably has way more shit, but i'd studied German history inside out and all the artefacts they have in one place is amazing, I couldn't see it all in one day!
 
My youngest daughter was a foreign exchange student in Germany 7 years ago, when she was 17 years old.

I remember two things. They turned out to be the more important. I actually doubt this will help you at all, but I'm thinking later on when someone UTFS for Germany, this might help that person,.

1. Take about half as many clothes as you'll think you'll need, and at least twice as much money as you think you'll need.
2. If you happen to be alone and 18 and ditching school for the day to go downtown and look around, don't be surprised if some old German dude pinches your butt. (My daughter thinks they major in it.)
 
Try eating pomme frittes mit mayo,lovely.
Basically chips with a lovely mayonnaise on them, tastes so good. If I recall correctly if you fancy a kebab after a night out then look for signs advertising Gyros.
Bet you will have a brilliant time there.
 
I was born in Germany (not Berlin), but I live in the U.S. now. I was in Germany August 2011. I loved it, of course.

Berlin has A LOT of history behind it, obviously. Most of its history is great and glorious, some of it is at the other end of the spectrum - racist, aggressive and even evil. It's a complex city full of contradiction. It's racist, but tolerant. Proud, but shameful.

Berlin is the birthplace of trance music. It has the biggest electronic music scene in the world.

As far as drugs go, you can find anything you want. Cocaine, marijuana, hash, amphetamines (mostly amphetamine sulfate, but I did find methamphetamine in East Germany), MDMA, and ketamine. Lots of designer shit too. As far as opioids, the most common I came across were heroin and morphine by far. Didn't see much oxycodone. Codeine was aplenty!

The MDMA was great in Germany and the weed was awesome (even though I'm not a big fan of weed). Hash was pretty common. Flunitrazepam was common, as was temazepam. Clonazepam was common also, same with lorazepam, diazepam, and lormetazepam. I didnt get much benzos, actually. I got some 50mg oxazepams (yes, they have that dose). I got 1 mg flunitrazepams (bunch of those), and some temazepams and lormetazepams.

Mmmmmm....miss the Doner kebob sandwiches after a night out drinking or when I had benzo munchies.

I've been living here for 30 years, born and raised, what would you like to know? :)

Regrettably, I'm more of a nerd than a club freak, so I know no good places to go to, but getting pills shouldn't be a problem in any larger place. Forget about the coke, it's all shit, unless you have a private connection (which I don't). The above poster is right though, weed and hash are easily found everywhere, as are heroin and benzos, if that's your thing.

Shoot me a PM if you want to talk some more (no IRC or Skype sadly, I don't have normal internet atm, posting from my phone).

That's a gutter about the coke. I was hoping that would be the one thing I could get a hold of in Berlin that would be good that I can't get a hold of here. All our coke is utter shite as well.

Glad to hear that good weed is easy to get a hold of though, that was the other main concern.
 
I wrote about fucking 5 paragraphs then chrome crashes and didnt even restore. Anyway we took all our own MD + ket as told there was not much at all, more speed, geeb etc Also if you find yourelf in an extremley dark room in a techno basement just go with the flow yeh?

Regarding Berghain, go early Sunday morning and then switch to Panorama in the afternoon. What is your group like? You have probably read about the door policy, so if you are a large group, considering that you have booked a large apartment, I think some might be left out (statistically). The later you go, the better. Take my next phrase with out any judgement, but try and be as Un- Scottish as you can. The door policy is so bizzare, no-one I know has worked it out. Areas of 'interest' are near the toilets, but try and get sorted before you go there.

Watergate is great venue, stunning view, check out though what night is on, you know your music, so should not have a problem

Club Visionare, can't bother finding the spelling tbh, was great, but I think it is closed this time if year.

Ask around the RA Berlin section before you go, best English site for info.

As for Berlin, I have been twice and have seen shit all, besides going from airport, apartment - parties-after parties-apartment airport.

It has become too touristic though and the locals are stuck up their asses, reason enough for me to never go again.

Edit.. MD was good, ket too, don't smoke so nothing on that. Speed is popular, don't smoke so nothing on that.
 
PTCH...take your ID with you. I almost never got in Tresor without photo id, and contrary to what Ghost Face has just said I told them i was Scottish, not English and I got in after a pit of pleading.

Turned out to be a total let down. the venue was fucking mental but the crowd were lacking in enthusiasm. Some were drinking coffee in Tresor?! WTF? Did not manage to get anything drug wise either in Tresor......that was the only place i tried

Cant really comment any further as i got stuck down with the worst dose of the shits and puking. Lost about 1/2 stone in 2 days. The Beer was good and the takeaway food was cheap. (possibly with free bacteria)


Good luck getting into any of the known clubs, all my pals got refused at Berghain and ended up just drinking in a few bars.

Another lasting memory was 1) loads of Graffiti and 2) loads of dog shit. Its fucking massive (the city, not the dog shit) so having a rough plan (as you appear to be doing) is a good idea or you might end up walking for miles.

Swedger - Ghostface was talking about Berghain, not Tresor. I've never heard of anyone having problems getting into any techno clubs other than Berghain unless it was for obvious reasons (ie, too wasted or... no ID lol).

With Berghain it's notoriously harder for British people to get in, so I don't think he was meaning try & act more English. Supposedly it's worth learning at least how to answer the basic question asked by bouncers around the world "How many of you are there?" in German rather than English. I can still remember how to count to 5 so we're sorted there haha.

There'll be about a dozen of us, only 1 female lol. I'm sure she'll get in no bother. I'm positive that a certain few definitely will not get in & I'm 50/50 about the rest of us. Fuck it though, we'll just need to agree to split into smaller groups & whoever gets in stays in, the rest can head off somewhere else. There's plenty other clubs.
 
Yeah true, and you can always fuck off somewhere else and try your hand again on the way home, I hope you get in, though, it's a cool place.
