What do you find most valuable in getting stoned?

not everyone consumes pot to get stoned.

the plant itself has many medicinal uses outside of recreation and could very well be an important factor contributing to human evolution and our understanding of the human body.

1. our brains developed cannabinoid receptors, which are found in everything from chocolate and cashews and in higher concentrations in MJ.
2. our bodies naturally produce cannabinoids as well that are used to regulate the way in which long term memories are made along with playing a role in particular cognitive functions within the hippocampus.

I don't know what the draw is for people and MJ, perhaps some people suffer from a sort of chemical imbalance or ill-regulation of their nervous system (which could be due to any number of other factors, eg. diet, genetic, etc etc) that MJ provides temporary relief from, as science of the human body progresses hopefully society and it's laws will follow, I mean we wouldn't lock up somebody for taking an aspirin for a headache but yet......

I agree man. Weed doesn't really even produce a very strong (in my opinion) phyco-active effect. It's ridiculous that marijuana is illegal. Alchohol gets you so much more 'Intoxicated' and like Tobacco (and even caffeine), its shown to be more addictive.

When I feel sick, a couple of puffs and the nausea vanishes completely like magic. It never ceases to amaze me how fast it works and how effective it works, especially since it will actually make me hungry again.

Before bed, smoking a nice indica hashish, like some afghani or some other soporific strain like DJ Short Blueberry will put me out and give a deep and profound sense of relaxation all throughout my body into all extremeties.

Smoking a pure sativa, such as a Thai strain, during the day will enhance my senses, making colour and sound more intense and generally the world more beatiful and real. It will also destroy any feelings of depression or boredom. It also doesn't have any of the cloudiness of the more indica strains and lets my thought processes flow just as easily as when I'm in a sobor state. It enhances my creativity and makes me more interested in the more mundane tasks of daily living, as well as giving me a deep sense of true euphoria that doesn't feel artificial like when I take opiates or stimulants. This euphoria is less of a physical sensation and more of a general love for life and others that only cannabis creates.

to be honest I think the best thing about weed for me is that is makes my dreams less vivid and intense so I don't wake up in the middle of the night because of them. It also makes the long boring days more entertaining by adding value to introspective thinking, which could also be bad because I end up thinking more and doing less, but I dunno. It's definitely got both its pros and cons, and I think the list of cons is a tiny bit longer, but I really do have huge issues with waking up due to vivid dreams and weed is the only thing that stops them.

Hey Lexi, I sent you a private message with a link to a website that has a bunch of strains that are known to relieve certain kinds of pain. You're a Greenlighter so you won't be able to message me back, but I hope that site can help you out a little bit.

The instant relief, 'weight off your shoulders,' feeling. Its something that benzos can do - but cannabis does it faster; cannabis is less addictive
I find it the best way to unwind after a hard day - not something that has to be done every day. In much the same way that some people like to come home and have a beer; some folks just like to some a joint.

I find it a relaxing distraction when used every now and again. When i do that I find music more interesting.

If I smoke it too frequently, such as several times a week, then I find any interesting or positive effects go away and I'm back in the old smoke-stoned-eat-sleepy pattern and it's becomes just a thing I do for no good reason at all. I left all that years ago after being a daily smoker for about 8 years thank god so now it's just an occasional recreation.

this.
it's nice to just relax and realize that everything is *NOT* that bad. It helps me calm the fuck down and reexamine my decisions and thought process. Also, helps me to get out of my own little box and be more empathetic to everyone else's problems.

"the herb reveals you to yourself" is a great bob Marley quote which I totally agree with .infact the whole interview with him about weed is awesome .

I also agree with others when they say that weed just makes them less pissed off and anxious about things they would normally think about on a daily basis

-temporary relief through euphoria and fun

-self discovery. makes me very self conscious.

-helps a lot with loneliness, the dope is a great allie to have around all day

-anger management

-slows time down

-sensory enhancement

-the pleasure of the ritual of brewing up bongs tokes or rolling up spliffs

-the little things become very meaningful

-does good things for my body. i sleep better and eat more. i think that i will probably live longer if i smoke weed my whole life than if i don't because i stress way less

i take it or leave it these days though, and i'm better off leaving it because i smoke it compulsively when i have it. but i still love it, more than anything. the stuff has sort of fucked my life up far more than years of binge drinking, 50 or so mushroom and acid trips, a stint of rediculous mdma abuse, and cocaine use. but it sort of hasn't fucked myself up in the slightest at all... i just think i function in fast paced, unemotional, capitalist society better when i'm not baked.

For a psychonaut it's absolutely invaluable, not a true hallucinogen, but awesome nonetheless. Helps me to appreciate things and feel tingly all over (depending on the weed).

However sometimes I get far too freaked out by the hallucinations and memory jumbling that comes with high potency stuff. That with trance music out of sync and visualizations nearly leads me to spaz out and I get worried about seizures. :\

Usually not that much either. Not stoned just high.

I do find my occult work and visualization skills exponentially better though on most types of weed.

Calmness, anxiety relief, anger management, stress relief... I'm trying to kick an enduring stim habit and weed makes that so much smoother. I don't actually feel all that stoned after smoking; I just feel relaxed and have positive thoughts about my life and my future.

I found so many things valuable about smoking marijuana. Its an amazing recreational "drug" (even though its a plant) and has amazing therapeutic aspects. It makes me feel so amazing and gets rid of my depression after a couple of puffs. It also allows me to relax and not care about all the shit going on in my life. Also its a great thing to smoke when you're with your friends or even strangers....it allows everyone to bond and just make new experiences with people you may or may not even know. I just love everything about marijuana.

It gives me a chance to look at life and everything in it in a whole different light... Its as if I accepted what has happened and is happening and I'm okay with it... Just an amazing feeling <3

Other than things like relief of stress and great bonding time with my girlfriend, it is also a great relief from most physical pains and many illnesses if they arise.

Introspection

This. When I use it for spiritual/occult purposes, it is amazing. Really helpful although sometimes a bit "much" memory-wise as sometimes you want to quiet your mind down.

At high enough THC levels the feelings and vibrations are just very relaxing and fun, as are some of the more hallucinatory and synesthetical feelings. With music it can be really great.

Sometimes it also allows me to judge things and my work from a different perspective, free from usual bias, and also allows me to come up with new and exciting ideas for projects. Really amazing actually. Can focus very well at low levels, very creatively with some uppers.

Getting stoned I open up and do more then what I originally intended.

I had a trip on LSD, 2 weeks ago about and after that, smoking weed has increased my creativity. I have got back into drawing.

I find getting high makes me a lot more relaxed doing different tasks though out the day, cleaning becomes fun, going for a mountain bike I am more careful.

tempted to have a valium and a smoke sometime soon, havent been stoned in ages. end up eating too much though
