What do you drive?

yeah Valkyrie, I know some people can make the best of them...

and they are better than a smell tent.

But I'd rather have a big tent.

Or a hotel/BandB.

VW Vans are a bit pokey in truth but have great character especially the split screens but they are over priced if you just want a camper. The best ones I've seen are DIY jobs made from ambulances or other random vehicles. I've always wanted one but it's a case of where to park it.

They are now. We bought ours as a wreck in the late 90s for £250 and spent about £1000 doing it up, nothing fancy. Over the next 10 years it got really tatty and rusty again but it sold on eBay for £3500.

You'd prioritise appearances over driving experience? 8o

Cockpic plz.

Well yeah, how often do you get to drive your car on it's doorhandles? 99% of the time I'm sat in a fucking traffic jam or just cruising on the motorway, so yeah, I'd take the Astra, much nicer place to sit, the fact if looks twice as nice as the Focus is just a bonus. Those age Focus's you still get the shitty key out of a 1980's Fiesta. It just handles better thats all. I've driven both

just passed my test a couple of weeks ago (old dog, new tricks and all that), drove to a wedding that evening, got pissed and my girlfriend had to drive me home. Woke up the next day still pissed, bought a Mercedes, but couldn't actually drive it away because I was still drunk.

It's quality. It's got a supercharger or something, so it makes this cool noise when I boot it. And I found a trick on the internet for switching on "dyno" mode, which turns off the ABS, traction control and ESP. That was a fun morning driving to work (my second day of driving). Did a nice big skid on a motorway roundabout.

Think i've picked up a few points already, will find out in the next two weeks i suppose.

Main drawback is having to remind myself, after a long time of not driving, that it's not OK to just open a bottle of wine after work because you might need to drive later. Fuck that. I'd rather get the bus.

I thin it's more than 6 points in the first 2 years and you have to retake your test, drink driving is bad mmmmk

^^
You need a chauffeur or taxi kappa - give the driving malarkey up eh, it'll save lives on the road :p

I have a blue car - so does my husband but he doesn't like me driving his blue car - it has leather seats and goes fast and I can't see over the bonnet because the seat is very low and I'm not very big or tall. Parking it at the supermarket is hell and I have to go away up the back where no one else parks and there's lots of space. I can't park my own blue car either but its not that much of an issue if I bang it into things, as I often do, like bollards and trolleys and walls. Curbs annoy me in it. It has a tendency to collect parking tickets, I just can't understand that, its so not fair. No one wants to take a lift from me in my blue car, they say its like a go-cart on speed. I wonder if I should take that personally or just blame the car...

Blue cars - I like em :)
