What Brand Syringe is the best? How do I ask for them?

I use ReliOn 31G U100 syringes, with a 3/4" needle. Theyre the Wal-Mart brand and are only $2.00 for a bag of 10. The Wally world in my town has a no questions asked policy for buying syringes. At any store you go to, the worst thing they can do is turn you down. Stores def wont call the pigs on you just for trying to buy a medical supply, so don't sweat it.

@Lazylazyjoe: 28G?Damn, that's a bit big, isn't it? I mean for multiple pills, yeah, but for "other stuff"???

28 gauge is the diameter of the needle(1cc is volume of syringe, 1/2" length of needle). I think that is a good all around size. Especially for the nice large veins in the inner arm near the elbow that a first time injector like the OP would probably use. Not the best for the hands, and leaves a slightly bigger mark, but I've found that thicker needles are easier to register with. Maybe it's cause the hole is bigger or maybe it's just in my head. I actually learned to shoot with a 25 ga so I think of anything smaller than that as small. That was before NJ legalized exchanges and it's never been legal to buy them there so syringes we hard to come by.

LMAO I know what needle gauge means, what I meant by "for multiple pills" is because a wider gauge is preffered if you are injecting, say, 3 roxi 30's in a 3ml syringe(which is what I use for that kinda thing, 3ml or 4ml reusable syringes) becuase a smaller needle can clog and it is simply easier to inject/register with a larger needle.

That said, I do agree that it is easier to register with a 29G, but ultimately I prefer a 30G. Also, 31G are honestly too small; I mean they work, but I don't think they provide an advantage over 30G, and I swear sometimes you can stick them right into the vein, and not get any pullback. But a 25G for intravenous??? I've used that for intramuscular, but I've never banged with anything larger than 27G, and that fuckin' thing was rough!

So OTC needles are illegal in NJ? That honestly suprises me, I figured New Jersey would be more, "enlightened" than that. I live in the south, and it is ridiculous trying to buy them, but Wal-Greens and Wal-Mart will usually sell them. Oddly though, a new tech at one of the aforementioned places wouldn't sell to me(the first time I have ever had someone turn me down at the Wal-??? by my house) so I had to ask to talk to the pharmacist. He acted all frustrated, but eventually did sell them to me. However, he refused to give me my 30G 1ml, because they only had one left, and "I couldn't take from diabetics who NEED them" so I asked for the closest thing, and he gives me 29G. Little did I know, the 29G needles we're long point(I can't remember the exact length, but they we're over half an inch) and, worst of all, they we're only 1/2ml! Of course, I was so frustrated with everyone's attitude, that I didn't bother really looking at what he gave me and was just glad to have them. I know this is mostly a pointless rant, but I can feel for people who don't have adequate access to sterile syringes, as they are legal in my state, and it can still be a hassle.

^Sorry didn't even read it was you posting. Honestly, I never used larger needles just for pills. A removable tip needle with its tip off will suck up most anything and then feed it back into a disposable. and I always reused the solution like I said in a previous thread.

When I started OTC needles were illegal and there was no exchange. A used needle went for 5 bucks if you could find one(No longer relevant so not pricing). I remember sharing a single needle with my wife for like 2 weeks once. It was a crazy time. I started on the 25's just cause someone left them at my house. You've never experienced pain until you tried shooting with a dull 25ga. Fortunately, there's an exchange now.

However, I have bought needles in other states and rarely have a problem. And, then, it's usually because the pharmacist in charge has a rule of not letting anybody buy without a script. Walmarts have never given me a problem and are cheapest. Once or twice I've been asked why and I said I was prescribed buprenorphine for injection.

I once took a 10cc injet syringe and threaded on a tip from a 29ga disposable I cut off and threaded on. I was on methadone and wanted to do a whole bundle at once (did nothing!!) and had nothing smaller but 1cc's. It didn't register good and my wife took it away from me before I ended up hurting m , but it worked.

easy touch 31g 5/16" 1cc
occasionally I will need a higher gauge, longer needle, but these are just so compact and don't leave marks if you use proper technique

^But they can be tough to register with^

But yeah, having little or no mark is definitely useful!!!

Im 20, but some people say I look 14. But I mean really all they had to do was check a I.D.
I got so mad at the last place I went, I was like, Kentucky has no law about buying needles without a Rx on hand. I told them I just moved from IN (which i did back in April, so not a complete lie) And that I always sent someone for my syringes so I dont remember where I got them. They lady said no, I dont have to have a rx, but she needs proof I use it for insulin, and want my name to check for a rx in IN. I told nvm that Id just get my stuff elsewhere that they clearly dont care that Im doing without my meds, lol.
I cant even try Walmart, because I work there.
At Walgreens (first place I went) the guy asked my name, I gave him my nickname, then he said my last name outloud, I was like o_o how does he know, I know Ive seen him before, but I dont give out my last name, and I had no clue what his name was.
But I put my last few $$ In my bank, so I just have to activate my debit card, and order them online when my internet gets turned back on.

I hope this thread stays open incase I have anymore questions, and to tell about when I finally get my syringes.

Also, yes, I know Im knew at IVing, but please stop talking like Im stupid and know nothing. I know plenty, and extreamly careful on anything I do, plus research. Everyone has there first time, and Im sure you have all started out like me. And I know itll become easier as time goes on.
Any advice is appreciated, but remember, you have all had your first iv time, dont talk like your a pro who as done it all there life like breathing.

sorry for any misspelling, Its to hard to correct things on my phone.

I know it seems pretty obvious, but there' one more route to take before having them shipped to your house. Ask someone to get them for you. Most users would gladly go buy a 10 pack for you if you give them a few. When I was slinging, I would often either keep extra on hand to give out or buy them for others since the store already knew I bought there.
Injecting is pretty simple to learn. It took me a few times to before I got my first register, but it wasn't that hard. The thing I had the hardest time with was keeping the needle still and pushing the plunger without falling out of the vein.

I don't see any reason to close this thread.

Just order them online or have someone get them for you. You are obviously not confident enough to buy them in person. It is all about your persona and how you act. I know it is bullshit and whatnot, but if they ask for your name, just give it to them like it aint no thing. Convince yourself that you are doing nothing wrong and that will be evident in how you act.
I think KY has a law that you do have to sign your name and address at the pharmacists discretion.

And finally, if they ask you for an insulin script, be like "I don't take insulin, I take HGH (human growth hormone) and I always get it mail-ordered because a vial is several thousand dollars and has to be properly stored."

well i no longer talk to the ppl that i knew who IVed, one went to detox, the other is just a idiot, so i have to order them myself online, but i could use a one time use credit card if you recommend that.
also, i am confident to get them in person, i just wasnt sure how to ask exactly.
But i have one more place I can try saying the other thing to.
I planned on selling or giving some of the syringes away if any of my friends decide they want them anyway so i dont have a mass amount around

Will that human growth hormone thing work??? Wal mart and Wal-Greens are the only places that sell to me. Granted, I've been going to wal-greens for a while now so it's no issue, but just for future reference.

is ordering them online feasible? it's completely legal and you're not hacing to make excuses nor deal with anyone face to face if it's such a big deal. they're cheap as chips as well.

The the OP:

I know it sucks because you work there, but honestly if I were you, I would just go to Wal-Mart. IDK this for a fact, but I have heard that they have a "no questions asked" policy on syringes, and that would make sense, as most Wal-Marts are homeless-friendly(yeah, sounds crazy, but it's true!) I mean you could always just go to a different Wal-Mart, and use an alias, though they will most likely ID you. And I am almost certain you will have to sign a log, as it is legal to buy them in my state, but the law says that you do have to sign your name, as well as state your intentions(BTW, I always say it's for insulin, and the one time I was asked why I didn't have a script, I said it was a "long story" and that I simply couldn't afford a doctor, though you could use the hormone thing or even say you are prescribed IV buprenorphine) I have to agree with muvolution, though; Wal Greens is well known for having a "no questions asked" policy, which means they sell without an RX. In fact, I found out about them because a Publix pharmacist wouldn't sell them to me, but he was cool about it, just said that "store policy" didn't allow it, and told me that he knew for a FACT that Wal_Greens didn't require a prescription. Which sucks, because I went a long time having to acquire my syringes from friends who had diabetic family members before I realized that Wal-Mart and Wal_greens would sell to me. I don't see how anyone could refuse to sell a syringe when it's legal; hell, I had disposable syringes, and literally 3 different pharmacies refused to even sell me sharps!!! All I can say is, people need to get off they're fucking high horses.(and there goes another rant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Oh and one more suggestion:

Go to the hospital. You are going to think this is insane, but hospitals will give you sterile syringes if you KNOW HOW TO TALK TO THEM. That's the kicker, you have to be confident, and know what to say. In your case, getting them could be more difficult, as you have never IV'ed before, and obviously they don't want to give out works to someone who isn't hooked yet. But for someone like me, it is easy; You just go there, say you need to talk to a doctor, and explain your dilemma. Don't let the nurses tell you they can't help you, they can. Just refuse to leave until you talk to a doctor. Then explain that you are an IDU who just moved from out of state, and no pharmacy will sell them even though it is 100% legal. Again, it is easier for someone like me, because I DO have some marks, granted they are not realyl that visible now, but when I had to reuse needles I had some scars, combine that with being in DT's, and they will help you out. But it is all the luck of the draw; if your a 20 year old who looks 14 you may not have much luck. Just heed all the advice on here, and remember, you are doing NOTHING WRONG, and you have to have that mindset.

Also, when you finally do get some works, make sure to tell us, I am not trying to piss you off by patronizing you, but I have seen too many of my friends claim "Oh I can inject myself, easiest thing in the world" then when they get the syringe in they're hand, they don't know a cephalic vein from Adam. Hell, they see me inject pills, yet they still think you are supposed to heat them!(morons) I'll put it this way, they hated trying to inject themselves so much, that 2 of my friends actually have me do they're injections for them, to this day, because I NEVER miss(since unlike me, they're veins aren't crushed from years of bangin') and I don't leave a mark, and know how to prep the pill, I have all the supplies, etc etc. Of course, they're just once-in-a-blue-moon chippers, but you get my "point". HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

let's streer away from the discussion on what to say to the pharmacist when asking for rigs. telling people to sate the exact type is find but to cme up with a long winded story isn't right.

I got you. But I was actually talking about him going to a doctor, NOT a pharmacist, you see before I knew Wal-Greens would sell them long ago, I got desperate, so I went to the local ER and pleaded with them to help me, so they gave me alcohol swabs and sterile syringes. I wasn't telling him what to say, just explaining that I got them from the ER once. But in his case, I don't see how that would be justified, as I was had already been an IDU for a while, and was in DT's with track marks to prove it, whereas he's just a 20 year old kid wanting to experiment. But I do still want to know if Muvolutions suggestion would/has ever worked, for curiosity's sake.

Again, I understand what you mean, I was talking about the ER doctors, but we all have gave him ideas on what to say at the pharmacy, such as mine and muvolution's, and you may say it isn't right, but what REALLY isn't right is stuck up cunt pharmacists refusing to sell syringes even though it is 100% FUCKING LEGAL. So if they are going to be dipshits and refuse you for no good reason then they're own morals, I say, fuck them, and say/do whatever it takes...

But in all honesty to anyone reading this, whatever bullshit story you do come up with is mostly irrelevant, as it just comes down to who's working, and what mood they're in. The fact is, if they don't mind selling you works, then they're going to sell them to you, whether you say it's for insulin or your pet cat. Hell, one time I literally put "other" on the log sheet, and the lady just laughed. So it doesn't matter; it's about your energy when you ask, and whether or not the pharmacist is a worthy member of the human race or not(and that's not saying I am). The bullshit reasons are just to make the person asking feel more confident in what they're doing, as with most things in life, being comfortable in one's own skin will take you a long way...

Ok, Lol, For 1, I am a girl. =p
And yes...I guess it is considered "experimenting", but that's how everyone goes, you try it, and either you hate it or you like, right? Now, I don't know if Ill like it or not, I just know that I have for a long time wanted to try it, and that just thinking about it my heart races, and I get a big adrenaline rush. I thought the feelings of wanting to "experiment" would go away over the years, but they haven't, they just get stronger, SO I figured it was time to at least try. And if I like, ok, Ill have plenty of clean needles. If I don't, well then I'm not out much money, and that's more people I can try to help by giving them clean syringes.

As for going to another Wal-Mart or hospital,...I choose another Wal-mart, even though I have a lot of friends working there it would be a lot easier to get out the door. A hospital isnt a option.

Where I live we do have a lot of drug users, Idk why we dont have a needle exchange or anything.

OH and for who said you have to shoot up your friends. Well I am hoping and confident that I can do it myself, but of course that could change once I have the syringe in my hand, lol. I have heard though that the hit feels better for some reason when someone else does it for you.

And yes, I plan on telling you all when I get my supplies, Like I said before though, ANY tips are appreciated, I know a lot about my veins and what not. But if you want to tell me more of what you think I should know and look for go ahead, I mean fuck, maybe I missed something and will learn something new , lol.

disposition- Yeah, I know they are cheap online, thats why if I cant get them around here, its not a big deal, you get off with the better deal and cheaper online. and no questions.

JUST REMEMBER TO THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE, YOU HAVE ALL STARTED LIKE ME, A FIRST TIME IV USER.
Im not trying to be mean repeating this all the time, but when someone tells me something that is common sense, or tries to say I dont have confidence (WHEN I DO), It pisses me off. And if I keep getting annoyed with this more then likely Ill just say fuck it and do it on my own without your tips.
This site is for Harm-reduction, not judging and saying who does and doesnt have confidence .
