Gaming What are your Favorite RPG's?

Oh, darn it all to heck. I thought this was gonna be a thread on pencil and paper RPGs.

(Which would be, for most playabile mechanics: the Amazing Engine, and for sourcing content: Rifts)

Hands down, Fallout 4, followed by NV and 3.

Nothing except Morrowind can hold a candle next to these, and I have trouble understanding how some games mentioned are even broadly “role play”.

F4 is so unstable on the PC :( Maybe fine with newer patches, but it was just kind of messed up on release. I loved the city/fortress building, that was a game of its own. Did not pay much attention to the actual game, just collected stuff and built with it :D Got mods to build more stuff, got more mods to build even more stuff. modded the attacks and played tower defense. I lost my baby, but I really don't care :D To me it was a pure crafting game, heh

edit: I think it lost lots of RPG elements though for crafting elements. I enjoy NV more, reputation etc. The possibility to not kill a single mob in a playthrough. I see it as a more "pure" RPG, although F4 is a good game, and would have been even better if it hadn't been so unstable

You might be right, NV could be the better RPG for the reasons you mentioned, but as a console gamer who never sees a return to the PC, the PS4 just makes 4 look so much better than NV emulated on it, so my opinion is wonk like that.

On the other hand, I'm really into FPS/RPGs, which I play on PC. Some of my favourites are the System Shock games, Deus Ex, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, the Fallout games (since they went first-person), the Borderlands games, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I am really looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077.

Paper Mario is an unsung masterpiece, and my favorite Mario title since the one that let you pull turnips outta the ground and chuck them onto Koopas.

I think you are gonna luv 2077, which this six week meth binge interrupted my start on with the PS4 right after a patch that the internet says made it playable at last. What I have played so far, has made sweat break out on my forehead, and sent me to bed once with the light on cuz scary.

my top 3 Skyrim, mount and blade, wow(ain't played that in years though) I still play Skyrim a lot
 
Lots of people say Skyrim, kind of disappointing. I think it's the worst TES, by far :/
That still makes it a good game, just not a good TES.

I think it's because people think the older ones lack graphics, just mod your Morrowind, and you can essentially go anywhere you want, and it will look amazing. Also Vvardenfell is awesome, where Skyrim is just..I mean i can look out the window to see mountains like that. Big whoop.

The Guilds are so small, and have barely any quests, it's just over too fast, the main quest stinks and lacks creativity(although to be fair, I'm not a fan of Oblivion's MQ either. I'm too spoiled by Morrowind :D ), the skill progression stinks, NO ACROBATICS OR ATHLETICS SKILL, conversations suck, no speechcraft, 0 cool spells - skyrims spell book is so fucking lame. And the god damned main quest

Dragons, really. Don't get me wrong, I played Skyrim for about 300 hours or so. It's just I played Morrowind for likely months of playtime.

I was absolutely shocked by how much fun Disco Elysium was. You can change up your play style for subsequent plays and it totally changes the story/outcomes of the game. You can be a good-natured cop for the best of the town or a speed-snorting, race-war promoting crooked cop who fires his partner and hires a tweaker kid to help him investigate.

That is fucking krass, even if you are an Autist yourself, which I doubt, because you wouldn't see it as being broken. I am not a broken lightbulb, my brain actually works better than most brains around me.

Um what? I have aspergers. I've made a few aspie friends here as a result of my name and even been given links to psychedelic research in relation to autism (thanks peabody). I had no intention of being offensive although I can see why you'd think that. It is something my sister calls me. She is my best friend and one of the few people I talk to, we take jabs at each other. She calls me autist sometimes; sometimes I tell her nobody loves her.

My profile picture is from a Queens of the Stone Age album called Era Vulgaris because I like the album.

Came here to make other friends because I struggle socially. I'm sorry I did the opposite.

I didn't think about the fact that it could be from an album.

I have enough issue fending off people who think I am stupid due to my condition, and it made me angry to see that specific combination. Yeah I took great offense, I'm sorry...
 
Again, really sorry. I didn't mean to offend. Telling people about my condition doesn't really phase me anymore, I used to try and hide it at all cost but... I've had some debilitating points at work where I had to let it be known because I was having a rough day and couldn't be around people. It was humiliating but everyone was actually quite nice about it. Ever since, it has felt like telling someone I have... teeth? Most are just like... "okay, and?".

Sure I've had struggles as I'm sure you have, but we have strengths too.

Sorry people pick on your condition, try to not let people make you feel less than. Regardless of biological differences we can't control, we are every bit as capable. Socially we are just different.

Elon Musk is an aspie. Tell that to the next person who tries to make you feel stupid. You sound intelligent to me.
 
Currently replaying Chrono trigger right now, which is one of my all time favorite games. It's such a classic rpg, I really wish they had released more games in the series, because it worked so well.
 
I think that i am too dumb for RPG. All the... all! Traits and points and whatnots.

A few days ago i got Playstation Now service for my ps 4 and downloaded Witcher 3 - Game of the year edition. Seems to be heavily RPG. I did not check first. About a year ago i was at my friend's place, we had weed and we watched Witcher miniseries (television) and i loved it. So i wanted the game...

It is all the... character development and stuff. Craft stuff, then upgrade it. Too much for my fried brains to handle. Gonna download Red dead redemption 2 tonight as i sleep, i liked the first one.
 
Yah I had the same problem with the Witcher ghost and I'm sober.

Red dead 2 is a blast though sucks you right in.
 
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned them yet but defo the Zelda series for me, i never played anything after Majoras Mask properly though.
Wish i could afford the console that the new stuff is on, that newest one looks sick. OoT is my favorite.
