Thanks Sadie. Trying to edit on my phone just results in a delete. Enjoy your toast.

Yes!!!! I thought it was just me with that problem! The number of times I've been PMd with a "why did you delete that rather innocent post?"...

I actually succeeded in editing a post on my phone yesterday but just did a quick test post and when i went to edit it was deleted. I cant work it out.

On topic. Seafood laksa for dinner. Snapper, prawns, mussels and thai fish balls with coriander, bean sprouts and vermicelli noodles.
Dinner time for me.

Olive oil spray in a pan. 250g of extra lean steak mince browned with crushed chillies and garlic powder. Add half a bottle of pasta sauce and stir. When sauce starts to bubble serve on a plate with some rocket on top....washed down with a whey protein shame and a handfull of BCAA tablets....

Perfect post-workout protein goodness and (almost) guaranteed to build a physique like mine :)

I want some shrimp... Don't wanna eat till I wind down, in a couple hours... How would it effect me having taken Adderall?? If there are no acids or anything, I might eat them sooner

Do you think if I try it without the workout I could also get your physique? :p

It's shameful but I've never stepped foot in a gym, except the gym at school which was mandatory, in all my life :(

Gyms are a rip-off. You already spend enough money avoiding exercise. Why spend even more money getting exercise, when you could get some cheaper-than-free exercise by saving some of your exercise-avoidance money? Instead of paying good money to drive your car to the gym, fighting for a parking space as near as possible to the entrance and then sitting on a fake bike for an hour pedalling nowhere, why not just cycle to work and save the petrol?

Well, from what I gather from my limited insight into the culture, every day is upper-body day. The cycling won't help that :D

I'm eating nothing currently but I'm about to hop on the bus to go eat some carbon at a BBQ :)

Of course you could Don.....gyms? Pah!!!

Seriously though if you actually want to build a physique as oppose to simply "getting a bit of fesh air" then unfortunately gyms are essential. Its not possible to do the required progressive intense resistance training (with adequate resistance) from the requisite angles and ranges of motion without gym equipment. If it were possible then savy trainers (as oppose to Joe Bloggs public) wouldn't bother with a gym ...

There's a world of difference between an adequate selection of free weights and resistance machines necessary to achieve a comprehensive full body workout and an exercise bike

There are plenty of ways you could lift heavy stuff without paying for the privilege.

(Being a roadie for a band, on the other hand, merely involves lifting mostly fairly light stuff that just looks heavy. And it takes its toll on you in the end, all the flex and plugs and rock and roll .....)

That's the thing though Julie....just lifting heavy stuff isnt enough. The resistance overload has to be progressive and has to exercise all major muscle groups and ancillary muscles through various ranges of motion. Anyone can "lift heavy stuff" but they won't develop a bodybuilders physique from it .

You need proper equipment and unfortunately that means a gym.

Would y'all believe I've been going to the gym twice a week for months now? No, me neither. It's true though oddly enough. No interest in bodybuiilding but could definitely do with losing a few pounds and improving overall fitness. I've somehow managed to stay the exact same weight the whole time but am noticeably fitter - even have a few solid bits beneath the squidgy bits here and there 8o

In munchings news, just finished the last of a pork (fillet) and veg curry with basmati. Really rather tasty. Other somewhat notable foodstuff I have recently sampled is Oreo icecream-onna-stick. Unlike yer average choc-ice the outer shell consists of a waffer-thin Oreo coating. Have to eat 'em quick cos - perhaps unsurprisingly - the biscuity bit doesn't hold up to melting ice-cream very well. Worth it at half price (£1.24 for 3) but probably wouldn't bother at full price.

Incidentally, it is entirely possible it's dietary choices like the above that have me at the same weight even with a reasonable amount of exercise. Also means I can continue with said dietary choices without evolving into a Hutt so not all bad.

The only reason I do any exercise is so I can eat junk food tbh. I put on 5kg over the last few weeks of injury by not adjusting my diet accordingly :(

Good for you Shambles mate....

Working out really does make you feel good and IMO gives you focus and direction in life as it encourages positive changes in your diet and activity levels in general.....

Plus Mrs. Shambles will be well impressed when those rectus abdominus start to show through ......I know Mrs.G used to be anyway :)

Thanks, G :)

I must admit I have actually taken to the exercise thing far more than I'd ever have expected to. The instructor thinks I'm very competitive. I've not yet had the heart to tell her that it's actually far more that I'm just kinda compulsive and have a very addictive personality. I suppose upping the level on the crosstrainer or lasting a bit longer on the steppy thing is probably a bit better for me than caining an extra gramme over a weekend though so all good :)

Mrs Shambles had better not be getting her hopes up too high (she isn't - in fact she has me under strict orders not to "ruin my physique" :D - although i rather suspect that may have been a case of not setting me up to fail too badly ;)). There is a somewhat less glutinous feel to my gluteus maximus though I must say...

I think she probably just means that squirrels are meant to have pot bellies. We're remarkably good at burying our nuts though so it probably all balances out somehow :D

I simply wouldn't ever have the dedication to work up to a bodybuilding - or even vaguely chiselled - physique. I'm far too fond of pies :o

(and thankfully my good lady loves me just the way i am - phew!!!)
