What are you munching on? v. the cheese n' fish cake crew

Well for the 3rd time in just over a week I had cullen skink again last night, once again completely different recipe...I feel like a fish soup scientist 8)

I'm waiting for langoustines now, so should be messy business :D

I really want an invite for dinner at your place sometime, Kate. You always munch such yumptious things. Been craving Cullen Skink since you mentioned it t'other day. Smoked haddock is quite often reduced at the Co-Op here so maybe next week. You'll have to recommend a recipe though cos I've never made it and you appear to be a Connoisseur of Skinked Cullens. Preferably a recipe with the least and/or cheapest list of ingredients to keep it feasible ;)

Had mulligatawny soup earlier. Tis a favourite of mine anyway (the Heinz tinned one was probably my fave soup as a nipper and also used to make my own in the pressure cooker - recipe said to do so but any excuse to use such a lethal piece of kitchenalia is a good excuse =D) but this one was unusual. Is an instapacket cupasoup thingy from that annoying cunt Ainsley Harriott's own brand. Should be vile really but is surprisingly good - nice and thick and even lil pieces of reconstituted meat (lamb I think) that are actually edible. Bizarre. The Thai Chicken one he also shills is even nicer. Also good 'n' thick, loadsa lemongrass and the reconstituted chicken is also shockingly edible. Bear in mind this is only in relation to similar products rather than real food, but as such things go probably the nicest I've ever sampled :)

Currently munching 'pon a pack of Spicy Tomato Wheat Crunchies. Saving the last pack of Crispy Bacon ones for later cos they're clearly the best.

We're having left over soup. Yummy. It's always better a day or two later. There's still so much in the pot I can probably freeze a portion or two. The whole thing cost me under a 5'er to make and has so far done for a meal for 5, tonight a meal for 4 and maybe a portion for lunch some other day. Not too bad!

Had a bowl of lovely homemade McPanda soup yesterday. It was really nice.

What kinda soup is it, Sadie? I'm guessing probably veggie to get so much for so little. I should make more of an effort to make soup myself cos is dead cheap and easy. Not to mention bloody tasty. Still got most of two carrier bags full of those Polish soups Mama Shambles got me for Xmess that'll see me through till next year I suspect.

Got a chicken biryani on the go for tonight. Chook was half price and really needs using so put to good use. Smells feckin' gorgeous. Those Patak's biryani sauce bases are really very good. Properly aromatic and spiced more for depth of flavour than for heat. Much better than their curry sauces (the jar ones - the pastes are much better). Well worth a go cos making proper biryani from scratch is quite a lengthy job usually. But incredibly lushy and well worth the effort if you put it in.

Yeah it was mostly veggie. 2 bags of tatties for £2 we only used about 6 of those. I had half a bag of carrots that only cost me a quid and 42p for a huge bag of runner beans and an onion. The extra cost came from Chicken quarters. Got 3 for £2.15 Boiled those in the soup for a while to get the stock and then shredded the meat off the bone and added the veg. It's rather thick too. I reckon I could still get 2 large bowls out of it.

I add lots of hot sauce to mine. That and a slice of bread for dinner. Can't beat the price and I'm stuffed.

Sounds great, Sadie. Definitely a really good way to eat cheaply and eat well. Especially with bonus hot sauce Goodness. Saw that Co-Op has got that Dave's Hot Sauce in again. Not the Insanity one this time I don't think. Tis a paprika one, I believe. Will have to invest $1.50 (bloody US keyboard layout that comes as standard on Live CDs is getting right on me tits :!) and investigate further next week cos am out of Encona now.

My biryani was yumdiddlyscrumptious. Slightly overdid it with the rice trying to eke it out though. Put about double the recommended amount in and added extra water to cook it all in. Biryani sauce is basically just to coat the meat (or veg) in and flavour the rice a bit but could've done with a bit less rice cos it was just a tad bit on the bland side. But still dead tasty and got plenty left for the morra :)

Next time I'm flush I'll send you down some insanity sauce.

I am more than well aware I still owe you banana bread. They've gone too bloody quickly. I'll have to buy some and hide some.

Promised CBroxide some from the same batch.

I'll get round to it but low mood and much tension has not had me in a very baking mood as of late. Not to mention the lack and rapid eating of banana's.

I had one this afternoon with peanutbutter. YUMMY! Now that's a tasty treat right there.

I like getting a teaspoon and putting just a bit on each bite. I luuuuuuve PeanuNANAbutter. Lush combo! Wasn't going to put it on bread though. Twas just a sweetooth snack.

Ha ha ha

Nah, Just crunchy PB and a raw Banana. I'm not that sick.

I'm a fat kid deep inside that struggles not to break free. I try and stay healthy when I can. " says the girl who had a small bowl of popcorn earlier and two slices of some incredible cheese! ( not together ) And currently drinking Cider at about over 200 cal per pint.

Meh, I pick and choose my battles. I likes my food what can I say. If Mr. Sadie falls out of love with me I know you'll still love me.

Fat fact: There's more to <3 of folk with meat on their gristle. Although when gut requires a stick to hold it far enough out to gain access to the Goodies it's probably too much of a Good Thing.

For once a rice-based dish is keeping appetite at bay. Think the big chunks of proteinistical chook therein may be the reason. Bloody guice is great but is hell for the spreadage and am craving cheesy poofs now. Made all the more tempting due to having a sack of 'em in the cupboard. Day-um I seriously <3 cheesy poofs. Perhaps just a smattering...

strawberry juice & cheese snacks & haribo rubbery sweets & cigarettes (not muching these cigs though).... hahahah, what a saturday eve!

Wow. Haribo are reaping the BL rewards tonight and no mistake. I should buy shares in sweeties.

More biryani for dins tonight - like most Indian food it had improved overnight and gotten even tastier. Still got a smidge left for supper if required. Followed that with another rummage in me poof sack. Mmm... cheesy <3

Also, I managed to break a packet soup today. Quite the feat I'm sure you'll agree. Forgot that you're meant to put it into cold water and heat not heat then add. Went all weird - globular and stringy. Bit like jizzing in the bath only twice as salty. Didn't help that I'd added chilli powder and cumin so it was all murky brown thus making it look rather like the aftermath of a traditional Cornish masturbation ceremony. Tasted nice once it'd been simmered and stirred long enough to stop it being too chewy though.

I've just had a lick of one and stuck it on my forehead.

It amuses the people in my company. Tis what I am here for. The local Buffoon.

Every home should have one, Sadie. Suppose I could stick a poof up me arse for comedic purposes but not quite the same when you have to be the audience as well as the performer. Might do it anyway though. I'm a bit funny like that.
