7/11 is open 24/7 and they are on every corner, very convenient late at night when you're hungry. I like McDonalds. What does it matter what country I am in? It's like saying why eat from a supermarket or Maccy Dees in the UK of all places...why not?

Try eating either a chicken or pork curry with rice or noodles every day, 3 times a day. Especially when hungover. I can't do it. Home end of May.

I've never been to Thailand I must admit but I have an idea of it that its a place full of fresh varied exotic street food that i'd kill for. I agree chicken or pork curry three times a day would soon lose its appeal. Just goes to show I shouldn't believe everything I read/hear.

The food is excellent and there is a lot of different stuff, I could walk outside now and get phad thai, fresh fruit, thai curries, grilled chicken, kebab skewers, grilled fish, noodle soup and all sorts just yards from my hotel but it's mostly snacky food on the street and you can't guarantee you won't be shitting liquid filth out your arse tomorrow (usually not to be fair but it happens). Something to keep you going for an hour, the main meals are mostly chicken or pork (or seafood but I don't eat it) in some sort of spicy gravy / sauce with rice, they all taste a bit different but it's kinda samey and thais don't really differentiate between breakfast, dinner and lunch, same all the time mostly. Beef isn't that common in the cheap local places, lamb unheard of almost. Some bars I know have venison and ostrich which is great but it's not common.

I've kind of contradicted myself really as I've said it's all pork and chicken curries then rattled off a load of other things you can get but in the small, local, restaurants that are cheap and where I usually eat it tends to be the chicken / pork / seafood dishes in spicy gravy. People say Thailand is a great place for veggies, I would disagree. Despite being buddhist they all eat meat and the veggie dishes tend to be stir fried mixed veggies with rice and noodles and not much more and the veggies here tend to be bland and watery and boring. No variation, not like Indian veggie food.

how much other food do you eat? get some of that bulking protein shake stuff full of calories, fat and protein

Yeah, I'll often get myself a chocolate Nourishment drink, there's a meals worth of calories in one can.

Some days I'll just have Soup, or weetabix. MOST days I just have an evening meal at the night shelter, which usually is a veggie curry, plate of vegetables, or pasta, it's always something healthy and balanced, with fruit for afters, or if we're lucky, fruit crumble with custard, or bread and butter pudding!

My average calorie intake a day is around 600, but the amount of walking I do counteracts that so I burn it off. Plus, I was told by my key worker that my body is probably, and she used these words 'Crack starved', hence why I end up with weird cravings for all sorts of different food groups, my body is telling me it wants and needs them. My appetite just isn't there due to depression, but mostly the drugs. I just don't have a desire to eat most days, even on a day i'm not going heavy on the drugs.

Off for a meal at the shelter in 20 mins.

Today I actually ate breakfast, which for me is a rare occurrence, some lovely Currant bread made by our very own Brimz's mum. It was delicious :)

Hahahaa, I had a good 6 months of surviving near enough on Banana Nurishment drinks in the mid-late 90's....used to buy a case at a time....

was doing a lot of speed at the time, and wanted to ensure I stayed healthy so had a banana nurishment a day.

I used to live on Complan in the 90's :) couldn't face anything much else till at least Tuesday, I was down to less than 11 stone at one point which for me is low. Saying that I've just dropped below 12 (was 16 last year) ans seem to be loosing 2 pounds a week despite eating fairly well. But eating has become just a mechanical thing I don't really feel hungry but I can eat a bit, its these fekin ADs, I feel slightly sick all the time.

I still don't think I'm anywhere near needing to worry about it but my GP said I should try not to loose much more, I eat 3 times a day but nothing in between and about half the portions that I used to, but TBH I feel much better about myself at this weight, Fek I was a bloater =D

I'm going for a beef red curry in a second. I had a great japanese chicken curry last night.

Coltdan I want you to sit back, close your eyes, relax and tell me about the meals that were prepared for you as a child.

Awesome meals, my gran used to manage a kitchen and my mum used to work in a school kitchen,
