Didn't have a McDonalds but had an indian feast though. Thai people always order too much food, they should be fucking fat coupled with the fact they never walk anywhere. Met a girl I know from my last trip today and went out with her and her friend, they insisted on ordering starter platters, hummus and dips, breads and 3 massive thalis (mutton, chicken, chickpea and other veggie curries, dahls, yoghurt dips, rice) for us all to share which I knew was going to be OTT. The menu stated one thai would be good for 3 people. Needless to say we hardly ate any of it and wasted money, it was ten times more expensive than what a meal usually costs me and that was only for my share.

Dan you seem to have lost the veg: protein balance you normally go with maybe one cube of chicken like that??? Wassup?

And the variety of veg and salad is a bit lacking for you too.

I'm disappointed.

Anyway, I'm still trying to get to grips with your applecake/milk creation...I couldn't find apple cake so i got a deepfilled apple pie (Kipling of course ;) ) and sat it in some milk and popped it in the microwave, you weren't too specific on the details, so i was kind of following me nose really, anyway, the microwave DID NOT LIKE the foil pastry case one bit.

Back to the drawing board...do you think I could do it in a griddle pan?

I'm confused, just put it in the dish minus the foil tray?

its a cultural thing, a sign of wealth & affluence. The Chinese do it too.

It's pointless though. I can afford to eat 10 different dishes but I don't want to order them just for the sake of it, it's just a waste of food and money. I admit it is good to try a few different dishes, especially if you've not eaten them before but over ordering just for things to go to waste is stupid. There was no way we were going to eat it all, we all knew it and I certainly wasn't impressed by their wealth, more just thinking they were greedy and stupid. I bet it's bankrupted them for the rest of the month now, all because they wanted to show off.

Thanks for explaining that over-ordering food to show off is pointless & stupid, I didn't realise.

But you can't blame them for bankrupting themselves in an attempt to impress you. I'd do the same. If we were eating together I'd get every flavour Dr oetker frozen pizza the shop sells.

thanks love, I don't think it's that simple though, I'm lookin at using a pressure cooker, Dan tantalises us with his shizzle, lets us have a bit of info, but always holds back one or two details, like Colonel Sanders he is.

:D

You're doing in wrong ColtDan, that looks palatable ;)

But just in case it didn't in the first picture, he took another with the plate cunningly twisted 15 degrees.

Culinary genius and food-photographer extroardinaire. Fucking class act, right there.
