You should make one - do you have a recipe?

A recipe for doner kebab!!!! think it's the hunger of a thousand men he needs rather than a recipe....

I was spoiled spending a couple of years in Turkey when I was younger, proper doners, huge great vertical spikes, just big fillets of lamb, leg, shoulder fillets for the fat content, and little bits of onion,pepper here and there, the veg was barely 1% of a proper giant doner.....The good shops would make them up in the morning, and the doner would be sold by late afternoon, no going from one day to the next with the same tired old bit of minced lip and arse dripping fat in front of an electric rad.

Doner in Turkish means "turning", cos the doner has to constantly rotate slowly in order to cook evenly and properly.

british doner kebabs are shite in comparison, I do eat the fuckers though, even though they are wrong food, they are not as wrong food as one of them Rustler burgers, but they are wrong food all the same.

Here's an image of a proper doner....think this is a beef one though, lamb is more usual, but couldn't find a good image quickly of a lamb one to show how they made

sorry luv really don't do veggie....

tried it for a little while when I was younger, but meat and fish make a meal for me.

I love veggies, grow them meself, love growing veggies for flavour, love cooking them, but i very old fashioed I suppose...just like my meals to be based round meat or fish, with lots of lovely veggies too.

meh .. i'm a viking, and ive been reared as such tbh .. my dad was a seiner skipper so my diet age 1 - 15 was fish and more fish... and red meat is like oxygen to Danes ... I'm not a sentimental veggie by any stretch of the imagination ... Hugh Fearnley = God in my eyes [2nd only to Will Self]

there's only so much chopping one can do tho, chopping veg gets fucking monotonous after a while ;p ... I need to find a chef to marry, i think
 
I love all the veggie things you mention, but as a supplement to a meat/fish diet.

I <3 all food really.

Hugh Fearnley, really, is a massive cock..but I love his attitude to food, cooking, and eating, and I've got all his books, I just wish he wasn't such a sanctimonious tosser

he's developed over many years .. been a geek and non preachy ... at least when he's preachy, he does it to the government, and tescos .. not normally to people in general ... he's like the anti-jamie oliver, who IS preachy, AND annoying as fuck .. but even jamie I can't slate really ... despite the Mockney bullshit ... both have got decent intentions and have good ethics

yes, both have good intentions and good ethics, but they both get right on my tits.

I've got a real urge to have some poached eggs,failing that then I will have scrambled eggs with some HP brown sauce on them, lovely.
 
Oh well, it looks like the eggs will have to wait till another day as flatmate just rang to say he is bringing home a takeaway curry with him.
Still no complaints here.

I have to agree with you Mailmonkey,eggs are great in all their guises.Even like a pickled egg or two washed down with a nice cold pint.
