No I checked, this quorn was heterosexual and in fact was breeding in the pack! I knew I shouldn't have let it go 10 days past the best before :| Still, it tasted pretty fucking macho.

Eat it before you criticise it, and I promise to eat you before I criticise you <3 (in future)

Quorn tastes like cat shit and hay, its a blatant lie in my mouth and I know it.

I had kipper, peppers, jalapeños, tabasco sauce, tomatoes and some other spicy things thrown in a huge bowl.

and with a sprinkling of salt and pepper DROPPED FROM A HEIGHT said no one ever, jamie oliver.

Have you actually eaten QUORN TURKEY AND STUFFING?

If not, your opinion is invalid. Show us the proof, i.e. pictures of you eating it and not enjoying it.

The quorn I had was quorn minced beefn and it was horrific, im still distraught to this day. I cant make a judgement on your turkey and stuffing yet though im afraid.

Thee minced beef is shite. Ignore it. I am only touting QUORN TURKEY AND STUFFING SLICES and CHEF'S SELECTION SMOKED CHILLI AND LIME BURGERS.

These delicacies are the pinnacle of the veggie false meat movement. Everything else is (really) false.

Just munched beany 'n' fishy curry. Was delish <3

Beany bit was cannelini beans, fishy part was smoked haddock cos it was reduced, curry aspect was mostly korma paste with a lomtick of madras paste, some other spices I had to hand and a coupla Scotch Bonnets. Nicely spiced but not too hot - could still taste the smokeyfishy taste properly. Think I'm gonna go in for more fishy curries. Although I've got beef defrosting for tomorrow's curry. Curry <3

Sounds intriguing that! Had fish curry once before, one of me best mate's blokes was part Jamaican so she'd knock up all this esoteric sounding stuff and she kept to it after they broke up. Can't quite remember what kind of fish, or what kind of curry, but it was nice. Been eating a lot of cannellini beans myself, a few cans materialised in my cupboard at home and never moved out so I've been using them in various pasta concoctions a lot.

Fish curry is great, Snoll-de-Roll. Need to be a tad careful with the spicing to still taste the fish though. Or just use whatever pastes and powders you have to hand and hope for the best. Am more at the latter end these days but used to be good at curries when I had shitloads of spices to choose from. Pataks do a Fish Masala powder that's actually very good although nowhere here sells it.

Just munched chicken wings wiv chilli-bready coating cos I can't be arsed to cook the planned beef curry tonight. Were okay (cos they were half price) but find chicken wings too much of a faff. All bone and gristle with hardly any meat. The spicy crumb stuff was pretty good though.

Forgive them Brother Knock, they know not what they speak.

I don't mind most Quorn stuff I've tasted. Some of it is a bit rancid but most of it's fine. I think a lot of the image problem is from comparing their products to actual meat. Quorn is not meat and tastes nothing like meat whatever is done to it. As a thing in its own right though it's fine and some of their products are just downright delish.

Soya mince/chunks on t'other hand... now that is the stuff that nightmares are made of 8o

Spot on Shambles. I have grown so fond of there sausages now. Not because they taste or share the texture of actual sausages but because they are tasty in their own right. I tried the Quorn mini savoury eggs because of all meat products I miss, I miss scotch eggs the most and they weren't bad in their own right.

Although I had an issue with the garlic kievs. They were so like mechanically produced chicken I had to get the box out of the bin to check they were meat free.

Dry roasted peanuts, tramadol and slices of lerrdammer all washed down with cherry coke
Oh yeah now were talking. What a combo.

Ha! Ya. Their "processed chicken" products are so spookily similar it really is hard to be sure you've picked up the right box :D

Actually, I'd say the Quorn versions probably have more/better taste than their mankychook counterparts. And are far easier on the conscience.

I used to cook with Quorn all the time (mostly the frozen "chicken-style" pieces and sausages) when I lived at home cos half me family were veggie. I'd usually cook two versions of whatever and would happily munch either of 'em. The chunks/chopped sossers are especially good curried, I'd say. They really soak up the flavour of the sauce nicely whilst still retaining a bit of character and substance.

Yep, agreed on soya mince chunks etc, and Quorn.

if they just stopped pretending to be meat. Vegetarian sausages etc do my head in.

Eat a proper sausage. Quorn bacon anyone? Get stabbed.

My boyfriend's not veggie but prefers quorn sausages etc simply because it doesn't contain balls, ears or anything else a bit grim. Let's forget about any e numbers or whatever, I can live with that.

Agreed on the bacon MM, jesus that stuff was vile. They tasted like bacon frazzles which may not sound to bad but when three days have passed and you can still taste fucking bacon frazzles it get's slightly tiresome. Texture, well pull the insole out of your shoe and try have a chew on that if you want to experience it. Vile bollocks.

edit. Yes Shambles those sausages are 'absorbent' aren't they? I used to cook them in the oven or grill them and they were terribly dry. Fry them and they suck up some of the fat and you get a little of the grease like real sausages contain. Yummy.

Quorn bacon, sausages, scrambled egg, fried halloumi, mushrooms = much better fry up than one made from bits of old pig
