That looks abominable but probably tastes ok. Where are you headed next?

Abu Dhabi at first although I might actually end up in Dubai as I have a couple of interviews in both places in the next couple of weeks. Wanted to go back to Italy but a few things came up. To be honest the UAE is the last place on earth where I would want to live, but the career prospects are good and the potential pay package sort of tempting.

Last week in this country so I have to eat local delicacies, kangaroo sausages, on melted cheddar, Coles smart buy toast(the equivalent of tesco value) and lots of Nandos peri peri sauce, which looks like it's been squirted out of somebody's arse while on the rattle.

Mmm looks so appetezing, this is worthy of that Cook Suck blog:

I'd eat the fuck out of that right now.

Gonna have to be a pizza for Snolly though, love Lidl, American Supreme pizza for 99p, they're nice as fuck too. Actually Lidl is just ace overall, except for the fact that it is seemingly against company rules to have more than two people on the tills at any one time. Love going in there on pay day and seeing what mad shit they've got in this time.

edit: fucking lol, I just realised them sausages are called Kanga Bangas, exellent.

Only £1.39 at the moment and quite yummy <3

As per usual, you speak the truth.

I had a sweet & sour chicken thing with rice earlier, but I hear that Pot Noodle calling my name.

Does this mean my memory didn't entirely fail? (Very) vaguely recall you dropping the veggie bit but hard to tell for sure with the Pot Noodle chaser...

Nearly bought a four-pack of Pot Noodles earlier cos they were in the reduced bit. I <3 Pot Noodles. They mine 'em round here... apparently.

I drop the veggie, go vegan, then back to meat so often even I can't tell anymore. Had venison steak earlier this week. T'was lovely.

Venison is rather lovely isn't it... plentiful and reasonably cheap here too. It's pretty lean and well flavoured for casseroles etc. For some reason panchetta is meant to go with everything, so add that and garlic.

I have a can of nestle (melt me into hell for eco crimes) condensed milk in the fridge - it spent 10 hours in my slow cooker, becoming uncious and sensual caramel.

I'm kinda holding it, in my fridge hostage like, like a mad obsessed lover...dreaming till xmas where I suddenly become the perfect mother to my adult sons and present the best eva banoffee pie.

with wings...i have wings in this fantasy btw

Tellyahons, you had a lucky escape lol ;) Still, I find it difficult to forgive myself for anything never mind caramel :|

Condensed milk = ambrosia (original stylee)

Heavenly spread as it is on decent buttered bread. Divine when toasted to perfection in a slow oven. Godly when just dipped straight from the tin <3

And ya, that Bambi doesn't half look tasty, Kate. Is a new one on me. Have long had a hankerin' after it but has always been way beyond my price range. Prsumably the farmabamb market has taken off recently if it's on sale cheap(ish) at Co-Op. Am rather partial to game even though I've not had many chances to sample. Boar was lushy as fuck and properly hung (til they were literally blue in places) pheasant (served up at a private soiree with the local lord of the manor, no less) was insanely tasty. Which was quite a surprise given the look of the manky thing tbh.

There's something about nuts & raisins that never sat right with me in savory dishes, but my taste buds have been constantly changing, so I'm always willing to give things another go. That casserole looks pretty damn delish to me though.

It's not necessarily nuts per se that are wrong uns in my book so much as chestnuts just being plain wrong on every level. And raisins should never be mentioned in the same sentence as actual foodstuffs :|

Am very partial to various nuts in various stir-fry t'ings. Especially cashews <3

Almonds are also good in a dish or two.

Chestnuts were irredeemably shite last I tasted though. But I may be wrong. Would certainly give a casserole such as that a go if it were on the go. Probly wouldn't have a crack at it meself though.

I was much the same until I adopted the vegan diet (which inevitably includes many a nut in many a dish). I even hated pesto at one point (can't stand pine nuts normally) but simply adore pesto now. Just getting used to cashews in salads and whatnot. T'is definitely baffling how things change over the years. I tend not to question it anymore.

Definitely. Never had you down as a gal who would ever enjoy any a nut let alone many a nut in a dish?!? 8o

(i apologise deeply but can rarely resist the opportunity for an opportune nobgag :o)

Ya. Have two brothers lifelong veggies and me mother goes through cycles of it too so am well used to nut cutlets and the like. Still can't be doing with dried fruit in savoury dishes (or elsewhere really) but nuts deserve a fair shake o' the stick cos can be lushy as fuck in the right setting.

No need to apologise, Sham. My skin has gotten-a-mighty thick in recent times. Nuts are seriously the least of my worries at this stage.

But it's true. I've developed a mighty good taste for a nut cutlet too. These ones in particular:
