Can't beat a bit of the Pistols, if I really had to choose I have to say they were my fav band of all time, certainly had the biggest influence on me by far. Lydon wrote this record to take the piss out of Malcolm Mclaren who wanted a song to promote his and Vivian Westwood's new clothes line so he wrote this !:-

Bob Marley - Redemption Song

I no massive reggae fan but I like a bit of Marley from time to time, this one will always live with me as me and about another five of us all in secure care last year with a guitar and a few bits and bobs for percussion spent a good hour singing this one, and Exodus track mean so much as I was into the Free party scene in the 90's in the Luton area.

No, I don't hate him, he seemed like a brilliant person, great talent, great ethos, good things to say....but I hate his music, just generally quite shit, bland reggae...I like some reggae, love dub, love dancehal, but BM's music never did it for me, not at all, didn't stir me in the slightest, and, as I've mentioned before I never listen to lyrics...he had a good voice...but his music does my fucking head in....

yeah Redemption Song, and a few others, they're okay...but just okay...i do like his voice in that song, you can hear and feel his passion....but it just doesn't grab me like music i love grabs me.... you KNOW what I mean, I know you do...

I have a great admiration for Bob and all he did, but i think his music was and still is overrated because of his charisma.
 
Yeah I get ya Reggae all round doesn't really do it for me although I am a lyrics kinda person and Bob had some stuff to say..."hate" just always seems such a strong word for me and was wondering if you had some reason for using it, but clearly not.......as you were;)
