Ive got a couple of paintings in my head that need to get done.

I want to paint my mood. Shes probably going to be dark and a bit gothic.. I've given her a hood in my head.

Show me some of your paintings Cherry.. here or on facebook. If I do the goth i'll send you a pic of her :D

Drop the junkie persona cherry. Its not you. Your body is addicted to heroin and whatever else. If you accept it as part of who you are its going to be harder to get rid of.

You're not a fucking setting sun you've got a lot of life to live woman!

Whoah, I was simply saying I understood a line of a song now with a different perspective, whereas before I would listen to it and not know what it meant. Was just reflecting on how opinions of songs change due to experience as I've loved the harvest album for years. I only put the song on as I mentioned it in a post earlier.

I am not a junkie, I am an addict. There is a massive difference between the two. :)

Great to see you postin Cherry, you have been in my thoughts, one day at a time yeah.

Evening Mr Ructions, I hope th bank holiday finds you well, I spent it ripping up the kitchen floor, now I'm knackered and my hands are cut to shreds buts its a job well doe of I do say so myself...I digress.

Zounds, have to admit to not having heard of them but they sound fekin great proper garage sounds...that will confuse the young ones :)

A Man Of Great Promise - The Style Council

NSFW:
I bought the paper yesterday and I saw the obituary
And I read of how you died in pain -
Well I just couldn't understand it
If I could of changed that, then Lord knows I'd do it now
But there is no going back -
And what's done is done forever

But you were always chained and shackled by the dirt -
Of every small town institution and every big town flirt

And I think of what you might have been,
a man of such great promise
Oh but, you seem to forget the dream -
[. From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/style-council-lyrics/man-of-great-promise-lyrics.html .]
And the more you saw you hated

But let's not talk of blame, for what is only natural
Like a moth going to a flame -
You had a dangerous passion

But you were always chained and shackled by the dirt -
Of every small town institution and every big town flirt

All the things that you might have been - but who am I to say?
Still I wonder -
If it's the cold earth you prefer to lay -
If it's the cold earth - you prefer to stay

Its Miss. Ructions!!! ;) Yeah Zounds are a great band, one of my all time favs!!! I love all the early UK Punk! The Style Council were fairly good too! Auld Paul Weller is a great musician, although he went a bit crappy & self indulgent in his later years.

My deepest apologies Ms Ructions, we really should have an optional gender symbol.

I've always been a big Weller fan, after the Jam he did release some good stuff with the Style Council but them stuff like Cafe Bleu wast really my cup of tea at all.

For me his kinda come back with Wild wood and the stuff beyond has been pretty good, some stuff like Stanley Road has been really good work, you have to give him some respect for always following his own musical path whether it lead to record sales or not. The Jam could have made 2 or 3 more big albums easily but he chose to go his own way.

One of my favs from the come back years:-

Paul Weller - Broken Stones

One of me fave Neil Young songs is that, Sam :)

Not listened to Neil Young for ages. But oddly enough did remind meself I should do a coupla days back. Cosmic coincidence. Possibly.

Glad you approve. Spookily enough I haven't listened to him enough for years because I got really into him during a very dark and loveless period of my life and it was always just too tainted. Which is not to say that some of it doesn't still sting (it does), but I can enjoy it again now. Maybe because now's another dark and loveless period, but that's another sob story for another time.

But for sheer unbridled joy, very few Neil songs beat: Nei Young - Over & Over

Most exuberant guitar solos ever. Close your eyes and it's late spring; the afternoon, you're in your teens, your skin is soft, your teeth are pearly white, the air is thick with pollen, nature is in full bloom, your heart still flutters at the right times, you still believe in love and magic and your dreams are still very much alive.

Sorry. where was I?

Peeping Tom (feat. Imani Coppola and Butterscotch Clinton)- Mojo (live)

"Now roll it up and smoke it again
Now light me up and snort it again
Now fix it up and shoot it again
I can't believe I did it again"

I am not a junkie, I am an addict. There is a massive difference between the two. :)

Wouldn't say there was a massive difference but there is definitely a difference. "Junky" refers specifically to being addicted to opiates whereas "addict" is more your "whatever gets ya through the night, all night, every night variety bucket o' drugs" kinda thing. Other than that, it's just that "junky" is seen as a pejorative term and "addict" seems more socially acceptable really. Interchangable in my book. Less so in others' book.

And you're right on seeing lyrics in a totally different light if you've some kinda relative experience to 'em. Nobody is ever gonna "get" this unless very well acquainted with that, as a ferinstance. Like it, love it, appreciate it and all that kinda stuff... but never feel it or know it or owt. Especially the squeallynoisy bits.

Is it junky or junkie?

Both pass spell check. I prefer junkie personally.

I don't like addict. Brutal sound to it.
