What are you listening to? Vers. WubWubWub Edition

Good selections, but not a fan of him at all. Hes gotten too popular for everyone else productions. Worst way to get popular imo.

he is truly a disc jockey, theres nothing really wrong with that. espeically since he claims to be a dj and not a producer at all besides thats how it usally all starts, if the dj can stay dedicated to finding great tracks and bringing them to the public then they dont really need to make tracks. I see producing being useful because if a dj needs a spot in his mix filled (they are all usally pre planned to atleast the tracks are set aside) they can make a song to fill that spot in the mix. with mixing experience comes more understanding of track production / composition etc and its an easy thing to pick up and form your own style.

theres so many examples of dj's that are excellent at mixing songs but cannot produce. ill give you two examples, andy c and reid speed. both of them dont produce, only mix and they own a label. how it works is they sign producers to there label and mix usally the best tracks from each producer whos music is basically there's. one more example just popped into my head dj.hype he does that as well. its all really just a business, ive spoken with a few owners in the industry and they have all said basically the same thing, "we saw a market that had the potential to make money so why not get involved, edm is a business" those are usally the label owners.
when talking to producers/ djs i find most answered along the lines of its there passion / calling and what they enjoy & the money and fame is a +.

i cant think of a live set that ive ever seen where the producer artist i went to see used more than 5% of there set to play there own tracks.
my biggest disappointment is always putting in effort to see artist producers i love and then hearing every other producers songs i got on my own ipod :\ if i said 5 of the last 100 producers i saw live didnt have me highly dissapointed and feeling ripped off as i left i would be pushing it....
