You ever heard a Proper Cornish accent? Ye Gods I didn't understand a word the bus driver said so I decided to teach him a lesson & asked him the same question in thick Black Country.

The Cunt who gave me N,N DMT sent me enough for "two hits" as he said, the first one blew my mind & N,N is nothing like 5-MeO.
The 2nd Pipe "God" decided to teach me a lesson & I am still shaken to my stinking socks by it to this very day.

@ageingpartyfiend finally gets his ass to a proper Dub night in Brum & NOT one filled with stinking people with dogs on a bit of rope. He finally begins to understand Jah for once & when the scoop bins packed with 4 12" subwoofers & a single 15" for those low bass tones begins to really shake the roof he thinks his lungs have collapsed & begins to cry & everyone laughs. ;) :p

I will admit when I went to hear Dillinja on his Valve system (named after the Tube Amp's Jah Shaka used to power his subwoofers) & is the loudest system in the world & this got dropped I myself did think my lungs had broke & I was sure I had pissed myself due to the bass.

There's some truth in that, but not much! I've been to more proper dub nights than you've had hot dinners, boy ;)

(Not in Brum though, but that's a bonus in my book - glad you survived a couple of days out of your comfort zone though!)

There's been a few great artists from your neck of the woods tho granted

Going round to another stinking Hippie's house who has ripped K-Jah from Grand Theft Auto 3 & is playing it via some wi-fi speaker doesn't count ;)

All my mates used to hate Dub, when GTA3 came out they all fell in love with this by Scientist for some reason & all of a sudden I was like some John Peel to the idiots.
Running people over & shooting up the Cops as this plays & weed smoke is thick in the air <3

thanks for that, when me next tune ends am gonna have an hour or two of scientist while I slowly tidy up and float around on the opium, coffee and croissants I've just had for lunch

also, houses? tsk. My stinky hippy mates live in busses and tipis my man.

 
I could listen to Golden Brown covers for hours, but this is one of my favourite finds so far.

I wonder if all the people that cover it know that it is a non too subtle ode to heroin. I guess they can't not know. The lyrics romanticise heroin so much that it almost makes me want to try it again.

This is one of those tracks that didn't do a huge amount for me at the time when it came out, but it has definitely grown on me more and more as the years have gone by.

Especially the instrumental break in the middle has sounded more and more fantastic every time I hear it, by any standard..



This is the first time I've heard this acoustic version, and stripped down to the bones of just acoustic guitars and vocal it still works great, although if I was going to be very picky I'd have to say that keyboard bit in the instrumental break is a bit dodge / dated in a bad way, but otherwise this just shows what a great track this is.
