M.O.P ft KOOL G RAP - Legendary Street Team

http://youtu.be/FiZ-n2lkP8c

"Play tough - and I fuck your shape up BUK
You have a wheelchair chaffeur with your arms in slings
Both legs numb from no arms an' tings"

"Pop a hole in your mink hat
Brownsville motherfucker it's so true
Put that ass in a three-piece suit with no shoes"

Straight Hardcore

The Kinks - Preservation

The first two tunes are one of the best ways I know of to start the day on an optimistic tip.

Not only were Arabesque Germany's greatest girl band, they also imparted lots of invaluable wisdom to The Kids (and probably some older men and women too) with their insightful lyrics married to those wonderful pop melodies.

Plus one of them in particular was quite hot in a kind of quaint-attempt-at-being-'exotic' fashion.

So, lessons from Arabesque:

Don't Kiss A Crocodile

Well it's not as if you would do so literally, but there's an extremely subtle metaphor behind this. I think.

Make Love Whenever You Can

Which only the voluntarily celibate (or involuntarily celibate and bitter) types among us (hope there aren't many of the latter) would argue with.

So there you have it. Arabesque. Not camp in the slightest.

Marmalade mentioned Bill Callahan a few pages back. I love Smog and this is one of my favourite songs... Which is ironic, as I can't...

Smog - I Could Drive Forever

hawt!

I ventured into the music forum the other day for the first time properly. was it you mentioning Sparklehorse, in a gigs related thread? Cant remember if it was you or not. I was pretty late finding him, & caught on when he did the PJ Harvey colab. Haven't finished working my way through his discog yet, but I'm in love with his lyrics. another totally magical sound that always gets me in the gut [and heart]. When I read the news that he'd died I was devastated bcos I'd of loved to of seen them

Queen - Flash

this track is dramatastic, and I loved the flick back in the day

It may have been me as I love Sparklehorse and go on about them/him quite a lot.

'The owls again talking to me, but I'm sworn to secrecy...'
