What are you listening to? Fantastic lyrics , political undertones & racial profiling

A double post from me in the tunes thread? Well, this is bound to be refreshingly different from my last post, eh? ;)

Swans - God Loves America - Omniscience Version

I know it's the Swans and I know I've been plugging this old live album all week, but just listen to what happens around 3:23. Gira stops crooning about the failure of America and releases the full force of Swans.

I suppose nowadays that'd be the equavalent of, erm, 'the drop'. or summat.

Only bad thing about being at my parents' is all my music is on my desktop back home :( Hate not having it with me, so I'm rinsing their internet and acquiring a few albums, got Mad Capsule Markets discog on the way cos my mate's dad reminded me of em.

Cheers!

I've been revisiting the Swans a lot recently. It's strange to hear some of the records without being drunk and suicidal. Or without being drunk, rather. Here's one that never fails to strike a nerve:

Swans - Feel Happiness

I’m truly sorry,
For what I never did,
But I forgive you, too;
For your indifference.

You’re a lonely child,
Laid open to the world,
And when I looked in your eyes
I saw myself there too

So please forgive me now,
For what we never had,
Although its useless to say,
I wish you happiness…
