One Scotch, one Tennants, one Brew.. ;)

(or the earlier version, One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer..)

"Well I ain't seen my baby since I don't know when. I've been drinking bourbon whiskey, scotch and gin. I'm gonna get high, yeah I'm gonna get loose - need me a triple shot of that juice. I'm going to get drunk, don't you have no fear - I want one bourbon, one scotch and one beer" :D

I drink beer for the taste anyway, so going for the higher percentage ones doesn't factor in... light ales are my favourite.

Rather fond of Youngs & Trade Winds.

Which Young's brew? I've tried most of theirs, and liked 'em.

I (used to) drink for the taste too - it just goes out of the window when you have a silly alcohol dependency to look after. I'd never pick up a four-pack of Super if I were planning a quiet afternoon these days, whereas it was the only way a couple of years or so ago (apart from wines and spirits, the latter of which I also hammered) to keep things topped up enough to get to work on time.

Wasn't a good few years really.

Hmm, can imagine. My friends noted me for 'liking my drinks' at Uni & just after... Id always be the first to finish a pint. I then had my episode & haven't drunk much since tbh.

I'm not sure but I suspect it is Young's Special.

It's an acquired taste, but once you acquire it, you come to like it.

Same with everything else - for me though if I was looking for % then spirits / fortified wines etc was easier to drink (whats that fortified wine in the UK - not 20/20 ) It came in two flavors - white or berry :D.

IPAs are lovely, but some of them are getting too hoppy even for me now (the craft american style ones can be a bit too much - a sip or two is nice, but any more cloys). I like Brew Dog - Punk IPA and Thornbridge- Jaipur (of all the widely available ones), but they're pretty mild in the grand scheme of things.

It's an acquired taste, but once you acquire it, normal beer just doesn't do the trick. Hard to believe, but you come to like it.

Absolutely. I'l still always roll with special brew if I know I'm going to be drinking it unrefridgerated, a warm one is actually quite nice.

The fortified wine I get comes in one flavour... port ;)

I do agree though, I usually drink red wine, port or whisky (with ginger wine sometimes) if I'm looking to get my drink on. Much more enjoyable than necking special brews.

I wish I could remember the name of this wine I'm talking about - wasn't a white or red, it was straight up meths or meths with berries? Don't really enjoy whiskey - the cheap stuff is just fucking horrible, the expensive stuff is like eating caviar when you want a burger.

Port is the drink of kings.

Urrgh have you ever been drunk on it - fuck mixing it with the WKD Blue, get drunk on it alone and you will never touch it again.
