Mai feivorite :]

Just found this little gem while in Big Bear last weeknd with my lady friend.

MOSCOW MULE

It consist of Ginger Beer(Not Ginger Ale and does not contain alchohol) Vodka , Plenty of ice and couple cut pieces of Lime.

Tasty and refreshing in the cold weather and probably super good on a hot day. Enjoy.

Re rootbeer

Just go asda and get "Baldwins Sasparilla" concentrate and mix it with carbonated water

Voila you have a root beer to rival A&W !!!

No booze for January here for Dryathlon so been drinking a lot of Cherry Vimto recently

Love that stuff

Why does ice make fizzy drinks so fucking great?

Cos it makes them colder and less fizzy, Knock?

Currently drinking...

Not bad, not bad. Am considering trying to stick to taste > price/ABV when choosing me boozing. Quality > quantity and all that. Worked out well for me over the summer the year before last when I was also needing to cut back from the heavyheavy drinking I'd been indulging in. Just goes to show what a shitty drug alcohol is that the only thing on a bottle I look at is the %age then use lightning-fast alky-algorithms to work out the cost:wankeredness ratio on the fly rather than just buying a pleasing fermented beverage cos I like the taste 8)

EDIT: Sasparilla you say, TLM? That's one of those properly American drinks I've only ever seen mentioned in Desperate Dan strips and the like. Have no clue what it is or what it may taste like but always had a hankering after it cos I <3 the word "sasparilla" :D

It tastes the same

One day I was really missing root beer , and we cant get it in uk so i went to an American expat forum online and someone told me to mix Baldwins Sasparilla concentrate which you can find at asda with some sparkling water

Hey presto !! It was instantly transformed into a root beer

Now If only I can find Hawaiin Punch here !!!

I'm not sure I've noticed the change in fizziness, but yes it does make them colder... But what's so great about cold? And I think there's more to it than that, I think I'd rather have the ice-infested juice than straight juice at the same low temperature.

I'm planning to do a scientific experiment tonight, with my wine aerator, to see if it really does improve the flavour.

I'll take two identical glasses, A and B, and label them on the underside. Into A will go wine straight from the bottle. Into B will go aerated wine. I'll shuffle the glasses so I don't know which is which. Then, by sampling the contents of the glasses, I will choose the "best" wine and then note whether it's been aerated or not.

I'll then repeat the test until the bottle is empty.

The test material will be Jacob's Creek Reserve Vintage 2011 "Adelaide Hills" (a Pinot Noir) which was just shy of a tenner in Asda.

I was starting to think the game was over as I couldn't work out how to shuffle the glasses of wine, but I've come up with a neat solution.

EDIT: I'm stopping the test after three trials, the difference between the aerated and "plain" wine is so obvious, in that the aerated wine has a much more rounded flavour, the "low notes" in particular being brought out, the un-aerated wine is, in comparison, insipid and its acidity is too exposed.

a btl of German dunkel, had a weiss beer, a btl of suffolk ale plus a btl of blond ale already and next up is a few Belgian ales.

coffeee, coffee, coffee, and coffee.

No no no, you're doing it wrong.

I had a dream about you a couple of nights ago. We had a heavily armoured barge and were shooting up other such tankboats (mainly crewed by rastas for some reason) with a .50 cal machine gun. Please explain it for me.
