Am I being bullied into suppin' the apple grog in this thread? I've read about this 'Cider-bullying' in the papers, y'know. :D

I ruined cider for myself during my early career as an alcoholic. I have made the switch to lager in the sunnier weather though, so gimme some credit at least!

That is the GAYEST excuse I've ever heard. Fair enough if he literally has nothing to wear, like absolutely no clothes because they're all in the wash or something but what do you need to put on for a few beers!

I ruined Whisky for myself last year after drinking too much and waking up on the couch with no idea why I had went to sleep there. Turns out I'd went to bed and promptly spewed all over the room and bed and couldn't sleep there. Hadn't bothered to clean it up so the stench remained for quite some time. Can barely even smell it now without boaking! GAY!

Any one tried "Hardcore IPA" ? I couldnt resit it in Sainsburys earlier espesially as its 9.2%:D
 
Aye, I bought it on the strength of the name alone. They do Punk IPA too. Unsurprisingly I bought both. :)

Very, very hoppy stuff - as you'd expect from an IPA. The Punk's more easy drinking, but if you're not scared of hops you'll love the Hardcore.

Gawd, getting me to do the beer geek bit when I'm trying to avoid having a drink...

Indeed was quite nice but I've moved onto the scotch now, I shouldnt really be drinking either but I gotta give myself some slack !
 
ye them boys from the BREW DOG do make some savage beers/ales/stouts.
check out the prices of some of there stuff,the tokyo stout and pengiun are expensive.
only thing i dont like is the crap on there labels,god they talk some shite.
could be worse and the shite inside the btl.
myself just havin a few btls of lager after my curry.
BREADA ROYAL from Aldi.

brew dog do a beer called SINK THE BISMARK and it sells at 80euro a btl in Dublin in an offy.

I like the Brewdog beers, Trashy Blonde is good, pale ale with a hint of passionfruit. Perfect for sunny days.
 
going to have to try the hardcore IPA I like pretty much everything i've tasted from brewdog :)
 
A good pale ale is superb. Extra hop content (and originally much higher ABVs around the 8-9% mark) to allow them to make the long journey to Indi-ahh gracefully or something. Either way a beautiful accompaniment to a summer's day.

Edit: Red wine what was on half price at Sainsbos and a cold Red Stripe for afters.

G'waaaan!

I had the imperial stout once which was too heavy by far. That's their only problem sometimes - extremity. If you like hops though, Hardcore's nice.

Evad in the drinks thread! C'mon! :D

JC - spot on about IPAs - higher hops and alcohol mean they survived the sea journey to India.

The C'Woorp (as the yonners immediately outside Manchester pronounce it) sources some pretty fine beverages from reputable names.
