What are you currently reading? v2

Dust by Hugh Howley - Its the last part of a trilogy, I could read it in two days but I dont want to finish it ? You know when your chapters deep in a book and are thinking - yes, no, don't do it, do it, your lying, its a trick, I would, kill him, what about him/her etc this it that.
You ever read any Dennis Cooper, Bearlove?

No I haven't - I sort of know his name from movies but looking at his list of movies I don't know how? Whats your favorite book by him? The Dust Trilogy is simply amazing and a must read - prior to this was Justin Kronins 'The Twelve / passage'. I read so much -

We need to talk about Kevin - Lionel Shriver
Angelology - Danielle Trusoni
Nightfall /Midnight - Stephen Leather
Dog Blood - David Moody
Nobody true - James Herbert

check out the Hugh Howley Dust trilogy. Stupidly I have stopped reading the final book because I dont want it to end :D I was reading it yesterday and got so immersed in the characters I was frightened for a character ? (No don't do it etc :D). I know that will sound crazy but -..

Old books - Abarat / Nightbreed / Fluke

Just read Heart of Darkness. Joseph Conrad.

Its about nam.

As it was published in 1899 and is set in the Congo, in Africa, 57 years before the Vietnam war, I think you need to check your facts :D

However it's true that the film, Apocalypse Now, which is about 'nam, was inspired by this book. And the "making of Apocalypse Now" documentary is called Hearts of Darkness, but that's a film, not a book :)

Yeah i know :D I have read it though. Bloody heavy weather but worth persevering with. Its a classic.

Lately i've felt like i'm in Apocalypse Now. :D

Am currently reading 'A street Cat Named Bob' which was given to me by a surprisingly nice adviser at my jobcentre.
I think she thought as I had been involved with drugs that I would relate to the guy in the book who is befriended by this cat.
Quite a sweet true story though for a nice lightweight read.

I'm currently reading the Discworld novel: "The wee free men", as well as rereading "Toll The Hounds", the 8th book in "The Malazan book of the fallen" series. Earlier today I tried starting on the latest Odd Thomas audiobook too, but my head was just so all over the place from a sleepless night filled with many goodies :)

currently fully absorbed by the dark tower series by stephen king.

what a great story it is so far.... really surprised. ive not done reading by stephen king before, only read the shining which i thought was pretty great but this is something else.

The Dark Tower is definete a good series, though many have been disappointed by the last two though. I think the whole series is great though pretty much, except for the authors injecting himself into the story for some time...

How far have you come?

Edit: I've read almost everyrhing Stephen King has ever written, has quite a lot of really good ones, no really bad ones, never left me actually disapppointed spending money on it. Tje last 6-7 years though I've almost exclusively been reading epic or dark fantasy series. Like the Malazan ones, The Black Company, Wheel of time, a song of ice and fire are. Those are my other favourite series of books.

well right now im in the last 100 pages of the wizard and the glass... really enjoying the change of scenery from old Roland to young teen in love Roland :P

theres something inherently cool about most of the characters. even the evil ones ...

I used to read a lot. I liked fantasy novels. The Thomas Covenant series by Stephen Donaldson is very good if you like that sort of thing. Anyone like fantasy novels?

My dad used to mock me for reading kid's books, his evil taunting must have sunk in.

I also prefer fanrasy books, only read the 1st 4 of theThomas Covanant series so far though. My favourite fantasy novelist is Brandon Sanderson, can't seem to decide on a single book atm ;D

Christmas reading.
