If people got taught even HALF of basic biology, physics, and chemistry, and then understood even a QUARTER of what they're being taught, this ridiculous shit would not exist.

The rest IS 'evil bad CHEMICALS' being sprayed into the sky in an action known as FUEL DUMPING.

You don't tank an airplane up to full capacity for every trip ; instead just how much fuel you calculate it will need. Even so there's often a surplus on landing, ESPECIALLY if the craft has to make a premature landing for whatever reason. Even without an immediate emergencyifuel may be discarded. I dunno f you know this ; but the weight of too much unused fuel will break the landing gear on landing. The aircraft as a whole needs to be below a certain overall weight. Therefore fuel dumping happens quite frequently. The wings have special nozzles for it ffs.

As to actively APPLYING chemicals to the ground, please look up the operating parameters for your average crop duster. In order to be even remotely effective, those have to skim EXTREMELY low to the ground, or the pesticide would just be ineffectually dispersed in the higher atmosphere.

Not even to mention there's physically no room in the structure of a plane to fit in a 'special chemical tank' alongside the passenger space, cargo hold and wing fuel tanks.

So YEP 99% of the 'discharge' you will see from an airplane IS a condensation (water vapour) trail, while the more dramatic-looking 1% is a jet fuel dump. Which won't reach the ground in sufficient quantity to cause any damage to living organisms.
