Television Weeds

I agree ^^

However, I find it charming. I haven't seen her in too much of anything else, so I'm perfectly happy with believing that her character is in a constant state of being overwhelmed.

I think the 2nd season was my favorite. A little too much resolution in the third season for me to see how they can continue the series without jumping the shark.

lol I love Celia too......she's my favorite =D
I dunno about you guys but I think Mary Louise Parker has only one expression on her face with a very few situational exceptions :p

I know! she's probably the smiliest actress I've ever seen. I don't know if it's possible for her to not have a slight smile on her face.

Just watched all three seasons in a two-day binge. Absolutely love the show, but it's probably more a result of my experience with that environment (drugs in upper-middle class society) than the merit of the show as a piece of art.

Really disappointed to hear (spoiler alert?) that Conrad and Heylia won't be coming back. Apparently Nancy is going to be working w/ Guillermo with plot-lines revolving around bringing stuff over the border. Seems like it could be interesting, but I hope they don't lose focus on the hilarity of her native environment (cookie-cutter upper-middle Agrestic/Majestic, which will be gone and replaced by a new hypothetical city near San Diego).

Also not sure what Celia's role will be now that the development has burned down, as well as what legal repercussions (if any) will come of the police discoveries at the end of Season 3.

And apparently they're getting a new theme song as well -- must be REALLY confident in their writing for Season 4 if they're ditching so much of the tried-and-true.

The real Agestic

The suburb in Weeds "Agrestic" is a fictonal town(suposidley in N. Sanfernando Valley) but it is totaly like cetain suburbs in California i.e. Valincia, Agorahills, or even Camarillo. Alot of people here wont know these places, but the people that live around these places in California(you know who you guys are;) ) totaly know what I mean............^. And conrad isnt going anyware. U-turn bitch!.........RIP.

If anyone has Netflix, you can see at least the first, and maybe second season on the Instant View feature.
I saw a couple episodes of Season 1 a few years ago and thought it was lame as hell. Might give it another chance soon.
dude as with any soap you just gotta give it a chance to work into your consciousness.

I stopped watching this series after a couple nights in a row my dreams were ENTIRELY about weeds and the characters, etc (I watched right before going to bed). I did not think that was healthy!!!! 8o

^that is the one biggest annoyance i have with weeds.
forget the so totally out there plots and the over the top annoying stereotypes.... it just is never enough time! it races by and i am (almost) always left wanting more, but not always in a 'i cant wait until next week' good wanting.

Second season has definitely been my favorite so far. I saw the new one (the first episode of the 4th season, premiered on Monday, June 16th). It was good but I hope it can keep the plot line interesting, as it started to dwindle towards the end of the third season.

I love Nancy, Andy (her dead husband's brother), Doug, and Shane. Isabel(ly) too. It's kind of funny, in the newest episode, Isabel looks so much slimmer and it looks as if Celia has gained some weight. I only really liked Celia in Season 2.
I can't stand Silas. All he does is create more problems for Nancy.

Anyway, I really like this show and I'll definitely be watching the new episodes (downloading them, I don't pay for Showtime).

I really hope they have a role figured out for Doug now that Nancy's in Ren Mar, but at the same time, I feel like they'd have to really stretch the plot to fit the shit in Majestic in with what's going on with Nancy, etc.

My biggest complaint with the show is that it jumps around way too much in terms of what it's trying to be. Frankly, I kind of liked it when it was just showing the way marijuana use, and the marijuana economy fit in with "normal everyday life." Then they started putting Nancy in all kind of ridiculous situations to jazz things up, and it started to lose the familiarity/relatability that it started with. I was kind of like "ok, I could see this actually happen" all the way up to them starting a grow house - but then they had to bring in all the gangster bullshit (which was never a really good fit for the show, since it's a little too light to take all the death-threats seriously), which is also where I think they got farther away from reality.

I really enjoy it, but I wish they would keep their plotlines a little tighter, and stop rotating new characters in for old ones like every four episodes. It tends to break down into multiple seperate stories that don't really have a lot to do with each other (and a lot of situations where you can tell they left themselves an option of continuing a sub-plot, but then never did anything with it).

Also, Mary Kate Olsen was probably the worst casting decision I can imagine. Glad she's finally gone.
