Television Weeds

i thought the show was a bit hokey but very enjoyable, especially the second season.

putting your kids at risk so you can stay in a huge house with a pool and a range rover is pretty despicable though. however, i think that is part of it...how fucked up everything is.

Picked up the show from the first episode, and I must say it's pretty amazing all the way through. I suggest watching it this way (PM for info).

The second season finale is very fucked up. I appreciate the style, but my stomach's twisted beyond repair...

Oh, and Doug is great. Him and Andy make a great couple.. ;)

i think that is what is funny about it, she thinks it is the right thing to do. to uproot your children, take them away from everything they have known, and stability...right after they lose their father.

i don't think it is a despicable choice.

First three eps of S3 were damn fuckin good.

This show is the bomb. I don't give a shit if its "unrealistic" or a "despicable portrayal of a single mother and black family". Its fucking hilarious and extremely well scripted.

I'm seriously pissed about the Olson bitch being in the show. I hope her character gets shit on like everyone else.

sweet, a third season. The end of the second season was nuts, I'm stoked to see how that situation turned out.

Sorry about ruining the ending to the next weeds epoisoide. I forgot about it not being out yet in some places. My mistake.

I love this show. We got rid of showtime, but I try to watch it OnDemand anyways and about 3rd time I try it f*cks up and lets me watch it. Haha, one time they cut me off in the middle of it but I've seen every episode except 9/17 so far. I would just pay for the damn thing but I have to watch it at my parents house and they don't want to get any cable add ons even if I pay for them. So I'm stuck doin' this.

If anyone knows of a good bit torrent or source where I can download weekly episodes that would be great, or a demonoid invite, or something. I would really owe you one.

As for the show, I love it, but a lot of the critics in this thread do have valid points.

The minorities are DRIPPING with stereotypes. I don't think stereotypes are inherently bad, infact I think that they can somewhat be used to make believable characters. But the way they handle some of them on Weeds borders on distasteful. I just think they could've put a little more thought into it.

A lot of the plot points seem like a stretch, and sometimes it seems like it's going all over the place. I think there could've been some work to be done here.

But, I really like the show, it's exciting keeps ya watching and of course it's an anthem simply because it's about selling weed in the suburbs. The lead is charming and gorgeous, Doug is probably the best character on the show he's fantastic, Celia is over the top you love to hate her, the young kids are clever, shane especially, and I can't wait to see Mary Kate.

The theme song perfectly matches the underlying attitude and message proposed by the show in general. I love it. The monotony of cookie cutter suburban life but loving it, and yet being one not so easily satisfied like the others. Choosing to go against the grain, even in the face of consequences.

i watched season 1 when it first came out on dvd, then waited til season 2 came out and finished it in 2 evenings...so far season 3 has been great, its becoming one of my favorite shows, very clever and always entertaining(kevin nealon is fantastic)

Anyone else think this show "jumped the shark?"

The situations the characters find themselves in just seem to get more ridiculous and unbelievable...

Don't get me wrong, it's still an entertaining show though...

I think so, bit I also think it was a very good idea. The show kind of failed when trying to be realistic, with the way the overly stereotypical characters were and all, so when they made the situations as extreme as the characters, it fit better. Some people seem to forget that this show is first and foremost a comedy; the drama comes second. They weren't trying to be the Sopranos here. It's just a fun, lighthearted, entertaining show.

I found this show pretty much unwatchable but on the other hand I have more than a bit of a thing for Mary-Louise Parker.

Awesome show, a mate of mine has been telling me to watch it since it started, but I never got around to it. I'm glad now though because I've got 2 and a half seasons to marathon next time I feel like death on a Sunday

I finished the last 2 seasons on DVD and loved it. The first was better than the second. I didn't read the thread as I don't want the third season to be spoiled.

meh, I only watch the show because of Mary, I just like her expressions/ naivitivity
