EVERY England game in this world cup so far has been a nail biter! Plus we're still in it too (probably) so here's to more nail biting!!

Bump, three semi-finalists decided now.

Dull game between PAK and WI, but the Aussie/India game sounded great - just following it on Cricinfo was exciting.

Took the day off work to watch New Zealand v Sth Africa, great game obviously from my perspective. Kiwis looked to have no chance when Taylor and Ryder got out, and we couldn't take advantage of the last few overs. But our fielding performance was fantastic, and once the ball got a bit older and softer, our bowling was hard to deal with and SA collapsed. Guptill was amazing in the field, saved 10-20 runs and ran out de Villiers. Oram took a great catch...and we got a total fluke wicket when Amla edged the ball into MCCullum's foot, and Vettori caught the rebound...

England will now have extra motivation to beat Sri Lanka, they must fancy beating NZ and reaching the final...

The SA vs NZ match was practically a rerun of the SA vs England match, SA cruising at 100ish then lost a succession of wickets which scuppered them.

The q/f s have been excellent so far , Tottaly unpredictable , n some real quality cricket.
I thought that N-Z were at least 30 short of posting a defendable total. S/A were 108/2 at one point then they re-enforced their reputation of Chockers with a monumental collapse! Guptill was everywhere in the field n Oram bowled superbly as IJ mentioned. Vettori was tight with his bowling and is one of my favourite cricketers, i don't think any one player is as important 2 their team as Vettori, he took over from Flemming who was a class skipper n is almost a geuine allrounder nowadays .

Pakistan who decided to turn up, absolutley humbled The Windies to set up the Big one against India.

Ponting bowed out off W/C cricket with a century allbeit on the losing side.

Really looking forward 2 watchin Sri Lanka n England , my two favourite teams , I think England definatley have a chance and alot may depend on our slower bowlers and Swanny.
Sri Lanka in Columbo is an amazing atmosphere n i'm a defo watch this game.
I've watched England in Columbo b4 and they were humiliated !! i don't think this will be the case 2moro.

Wouldn't like 2 predict a winner of the Tournament but Whoever wins of Pakistan n India have 2 be favourites.

Any1 else on here played cricket as a youngster ?

Fuck yeah, great start to the weekend with the Aussies and Saffa's knocked out in the quarters.

England were taught a lesson on how to bat and bowl in the sub Continent today. Sri Lanka's openers were awesome n their bowlers very canny.
Our boys looked like they just wanted 2 get home by the time Sri Lanka were 150 /0. It's been a long tour.
The domestic season starts in April ffs , Cricket is a all year round game these days plus you've got the IPL starting soon.

Took the day off work again for the Sri Lanka-NZ match. Pretty good, especially when we got 4 quick wickets and looked like making a game of it for a second. In the end we didn't get enough runs at the end of the innings.

Kane Williamson looks like a tasty batsman, and Southee is really starting to fulfil his promise as a bowler. Going to be some big clear outs in the Kiwi team with Vettori, Styrus, Tuffey, Oram, Mills, Martin all looking likely to go, from one form of the game or both.

The Lankans are as good as we'd expect, Mendis made a huge contribution along with Murali and Malinga, and their top-order is wonderful. Will be interesting to see how they cope with India (or maybe Pakistan, but I think it'll be India).

Game tomorrow should be brilliant...

brilliant catch from How.

should probably set my alarm for tomorrow's match. not sure who I want to win this one. Obviously I want Sri Lanka to win the whole thing so I can use the excuse England were put out by the Champions. Mostly England were hopeless and lucky. Against SL England were just hopeless.

Really wanted a Sri Lanka win. I thought they made a huge error of judgement by ommiting Mendis on the grounds that India have played him well in the past, the guy was havin a crackin tournament also they missed Matthews 4 his Bowling. Jaywardene is the 1st guy 2 score a ton in W/C final n loose poor fella! Sangakara is usually spot on with his decisions but i think he was just tryin to be a bit 2 clever n payed the price.
Murali also looks past it , his body just can't stand up 2 it anymore and his bowling just didn't seem to have the aggresiveness anymore and peole have learnt hoe to pick him. It took em 15 years mind and he will be a legend , nice bloke as well , i met him n Chaminda Vaas in 2007 in Columbo n got em both 2 sign my hat!!

Anyway I was thinking about this thread last night. IPL cricket *yeuch shudder mutter disapprove* as you will, has been OK so far this year.
I decided, for no known reason, ( except maybe a childish delight at the idea of Ganesh perhaps that influenced me??) to apply freewill and pledge allegiance to the Kochi Tuskers Kerala & they've done great for a team that's just joined the league, Jayawardne & McCullum (sp?) the KTK openers are really excellent batsmen to watch. Some godforsaken glooomy looking team are playing atm that probably means they actually lead the league.

Saw B McCallum yesterday hiting it 2 all parts , then he got Clean bowled by Tait 150kmh unplayable.
BUT if you know Shaun Tait theirs a pretty good chance that he will have bowled either a front or back foot no ball.
He does this alot which must be very frustrating. He had done it again , back foot no ball , this is the third time i've seen him do this in IPL this year n i've only watched it sporadiclly.

Suirely if you are putting so much effort in to each ball a la Tait you would think he would at least get the basics right .

It would be intresting to see his stats i don't think i've ever seen a bowler concede as many Leg bys , Wides n No balls as Tait he must have one of the highest amount of extras aginst his name of any Fast bowler in world Cricket EVER.

Still good 2 watch but compare him to the other 150 k plus bowler , Malinga n theirs no contest Malingas accurasy is unnerving for any batsmen.
