As much as the bowlers kept us in with chance I wouldn't trust us to chase down 20 in the 4th innings let alone 200+

I think we should play 11 bowlers in the next test, we'd probably score more runs 8)

Sporting Index have the spread for England at 291-303. I'd sell (go under 291).

Anyone think we're gonna win? 111-2 looks intriguing until you do the old Boycott trick of adding 2 wickets to the score. 125-4 after half an hour tomorrow and its as good as over.
 
Ask me after the first tea break and if we still have this partnership in tact then it's possible.

But honestly would you ever bet on England winning in the Sub Cont ?

The highest 4th innings score on that ground is under 250 and that was by Sri Lanka themselves - I just can't see us doing it, one or two early wickets and we are likely to crumble.

I'd would love them to prove me wrong though

RE: Sri Lanka - it's on my list of places to visit. If I won a shitload of money I'd follow the England team round when they tour abroad. India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Ausralia. What a laugh that'd be!

Another decent performance by the bowlers again this test, wonder how long it will take Pietersen and co. to undo all the hard work this time
 
Funny little ground it is .
Where Sri Lanka played their first test match in 82 thats why they are using it 30th anniversary

In Colombo they usually use THe Sinhalese Sports Ground for test matches its bigger .
 
decent day for england's batsmen for once. they better keep it up tomorrow too and not do the recent usual of undoing any good work almost immediately.
 
good test this. 5 dayer perhaps. With luck england will win the first test this winter. Swan good as usual. Shame panesar not playing this time for some more spin
 
I don't know why they don't bowl Pietersen more often. seems a better bet than Patel, who seems singularly ineffectual. seeing as he was supposedly brought in for his additional "batting". Monty did better than he did at the last test with his bat and is a much better bowler.
