Alright, when I was younger I had delayed sleep phase disorder. It has always caused me a lot of problems with demands of this society (the day starts at 7 am most of the time, not noon/1pm). It took me longer to finish my first BA longer than anybody I know and this brought on a lot of shame especially when I realized it was the wrong kind of BA for me and I decided to do another one. But that time I was prepared, I had Rivotril (Klonopin everywhere else than US), 1mg a day (2 x .5) and I slept the correct amount of time with it etc. I maybe felt dizzy for the first 2-3 weeks upon waking up but that was it.

So things spiraled out of control after that BA for me after some jaw/headache problem arose in 2007 and I got into shooting opiates just for pain relief etc. while I increased my benzo consumption.

Well long story short, these days I have a frustrating defect in my sleep hygiene even with all the meds I am on to make me calmer/sleep better. I'm on temp disability and i dont have a reason to wake up at 7 am especially when I only fall asleep for real at 3 am. First part of the problem is I usually fall asleep at 8:30/9 pm thinking awesome i'm sleepy that early I will sleep great tonight. But no, I wake up roughly an hour later, often feeling pretty damn bizarre while it feels I just woke up after i fell asleep maybe for 5 min. Then something wakes me up right away. Then I usually just go back to bed at 1-2am and fall asleep at 3-4am. The most frustrating part of the problem follows and googlin for heatlh tips about what it could be yields low results. I wake up every goddamn hours starting 7 or 8 am to piss. Today I did that from 7am to 2 pm, almost exactly 1 hour apart. I see my alarm clock telling me things like 7h06, 8h14, 9h03, 10h20, 11h16, 12h10 etc.

White male, 30 years old, 6'0 204 lbs, very slightly overweight (remainings of my pothead days and related munchies in my belly only, i think im only 8 lbs over my max healthy weight) Diseases : Generalized Anxiety Disorder/Panic Attacks/Opiate Dependency (hardly a disease but its in my medical record even if the methadone helped the jaw pain/nerve pain/headaches in the left part of my face, I hardly am in pain, physically at least, anymore). Asthma, tachycardia, high blood pressure (both treated with clonidine along for its other usages, see below), Insomnia and I am paranoid something might be wrong with my kidneys/adrenal glands/heart.

Medication I am on :
Methadone 55mg daily
Valium 10 15 or 20mg daily (depends on how i feel)
Hydroxyzine 50mg (for sleep, also i often take 1 right before i go take my methadone dose, it really potentiates it hard and it makes me never raise my done dosage, now at 55mg for 6 weeks and i dont want/feel like i need more
Seroquel 25mg pills (those for sleep), I take 50mg usually when hydroxyzine and valium doesnt work at knocking me out. I still took 50mg this morning after waking up the first time and i still woke up to pee every damn hour afterwards.
Clonidine 0.2mg bid Blood pressure, to also help with anxiety and sleep and not abuse my benzos. These last 3 meds help a lot for me not going back to my old script which was 66% stronger..3mg clonazepam a day.
Fiorinal (300mg aspirin, 50mg butalbital, 50mg caffeine), in case the terrible headaches resurface, only take as needed.
And my asthma pumps being : Bricanyl (Terbutaline) bronchodilator and Symbicort (budenoside/formoterol) combo of corticosteroid and bronchodilatator. The terbutaline is for when I feel really fucking out of breath.

I have tons of shit preoccupying myself mentally about my health. Please tell me this is, because i often throw 6-8 beers on top and my kidneys are overloaded with toxins to excrete.I seem to have the peeing problem much worse when I drink. I know I shouldnt drink over methadone, but it also prevents me from taking more valium and increase my benzo tolerance. i reduced it by 66% and it is one of my proudest moments to have done so, a habit harder to break than opiate addiction, for sure. I have chosen to go on methadone in october because I couldn't face, mentally, another withdrawal. Anyway i'm rambling. I am not drinking tonight and I will see what happens. I bothered writing this cos the feel sleepy at 8pm wake up at 9 shit happened again.

One of the several reasons I didn't like seroquel was because it made me wake up in a haze to go to the bathroom several times a night. That could be one possibility, as I've taken most of the other meds you are on and they didn't cause frequent urination.

Along with frequent urination, seroquel may also cause diabetes, which is also usually detected by frequent urination. I suggest getting tested for diabetes, and if that is negative then see about finding a replacement for the seroquel.

Yeah believe me, I do not like Seroquel, even in these low dosage pills made for sleep. I forgot to say I do not take those regularly. Is diabetus concerns even a real concern at 25-50mg 4 days out of 7 ? Although I will take note of you saying seroquel caused this.

I have a few hypothesis myself tho. Methadone makes me extremely constipated, worst than any other pharm opiate out there, and I've had about 80% of all available pharm opioids in the canadian pharmacopoeia. So I forgot to mention it takes 2 meds to make me have regular number 2's. Sessonides 8,6mg x2 a day (ingredient in x-lax in fact) but scripted so free, docusate sodium. I also have lactusol, that not very good tasting "orange" flavoured liquid but I do not take it everyday. I always forget to renew my bottle of docusate sodium 100mg which i gotta take bid. The combo of these too had resolved all problems and i mostly ignore the lactusol. But since I don't/only use sessonides once a day since 2 weeks, i often go pee during the day feeling like theres some compacted crap down there but my body does not feel like having a bowel movement. Could it be all that compacted crap be compressing my lower abdomen and causing my body wanting to relieve pressure the only way it can, with urination?

Agh, I went through this for awhile when I was upping my dose on ssri's. I would pee like 20 times a night and could never fully fall asleep. The only way I really got through it was to just get up and go, even if it was only a couple drops, but not turn the light on in the bathroom or flush because that would wake me up all the way. Don't drink any liquids for a few hours before bedtime too. If you're really worried about peeing in your sleep (which I always was, and that didn't make it any easier to fall asleep) you could just wear a diaper, lol, or sleep on a towel! or put a plastic mattress protector on underneath your sheets like they make you do in college dorms.

Sorry I can't give a better answer, I know how much this really sucks :(

And yes, I would definitely say constipation could cause pressure on your bladder making it feel like you have to pee all the time.

Take more cinnamom in your diet and swap any sugar for Stevia

Nix any fruit juice, especially blueberry or pomegranate

Start taking DHEA 10MG a day as well as Melatonin ( split these pills if you have a splitter as as little as 1mg is enough according to andrew weil)

Please be careful when mixing the butalbital with that other cocktail of depressants you're on. Throwing a barbiturate on top of a mixture of methadone, diazepam and the antihistamines could be very dangerous. Antihistamines are known for causing frequent urination, and you're taking both hydroxyzine and Seroquel (quetiapine). While Seroquel is technically an antipsychotic, at lower doses its primary effects come from its antihistamine action. So you're effectively taking two antihistamines at once. Have you tried taking them out of your daily dosing regimen?

I'm also going to echo what Tommyboy said about Seroquel in general. Its nasty stuff. There are much better medications out there for sleep. I would only use the Seroquel if you absolutely need it.

I take Cymbalta 60, Synthroid 75, Adderall 15, Klonopin .5 as needed (mostly needed LOL) and I snort dope.

I am in the bathroom every hour or so at night because I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, diet coke or Crystal Light during the day and diet ginger ale or 7-up or Crystal Light at night. I am very very thirsty. I also substitute "drinks" as "food" because I am overweight and am on a diet... I'm so thirsty I've been tested for diabetes more than once. (I went from 135 pounds earlier this year to 165 currently - mainly depression & HUGE sweet tooth, odd since my meds are so speedy but dope gives me the munchies)

I try not to drink anything caffeinated after about 3 or 4 pm. Could the sleep thing have anything to do with something as basic as you drink too much liquids. Usually the best thing is to stop drinking so much after 6pm and you'll sleep better....

This may seem trite, but maybe this can help you?
Happy New Year! All the best to you getting a good night sleep!
Gwen

Sorry if this isn't exactly on topic but: methadone + valium + hydroxyzine + seroquel..... I'm surprised you can even get out of bed in the first place.

Glad you managed to get that issue solved though and it wasn't anything serious, as pissing too much can be a sign of diabetes.

Heh, I always had a natural tolerance to downers and painkillers. I remember when i was pretty young about a decade before i picked a needle I had hurt my coccyx. I was given Empracets (30mg codeine/300mg tylenol) and they did nothing. Then I read how to do a CWE on erowid. I took like 300mg and i just had a "hmm this is cool" for 30 minutes. It didn't take away the pain much at all. Even snorting 4mg of dilaudid in my early days of abusing opies did it not work very well. Same as eating 20mg of oxy, the pills they do nothing! Heh, or so I thought :|

Oh yeah and the benzos, most people would not even venture/ever need to have benzos to sleep. I have insomnia since as long as I can remember. Actually I have insomnia since that crazy earthquake we had in 1988 (we never ever have fucking earthquakes here and it was a 6.6, didnt have one again since then). I was 6. And before I was using benzos daily I very much sought them hardcore because generic benadryl and the like was giving me nightmares and weed wasn't making me sleepy anymore.
