waiting

absence breeds tabs of yearning
melodies previously unheard of ; engines
purring softly in stalled racecars, metals
tinkling to a tune the senses usually choose
to ignore, shoes stomping hastily as absent
eyes follow in footsteps , leaving
carpet marks in the darkness , pencils
etched furtively on blank pieces of canvas
one last time catching rainbows ; then
the swoop , colors dropping like fantastic
winged missiles exploding silently
with the first few pinches of rain
as you blaze into the drabness of this waiting
i might still be dreaming, i think
No, you are here, neon pink pen of
fantasies in my palm now hushed
closed, pointless, perfect
running in the sea-spray
i feel your breath again
escaping into your eyes
fire under my fingernails

is it possible to wait between inspiration or do we dangle aimlessly awaiting hope to awaken our colour blinded eyes. great prose cc

That's wooonderful. I enjoyed this.

Also, like I said to spinkle in one of his threads, it's nice to see someone who knows that a line break doesn't have to be final. :) You give this a real stream of consciousness kind of feel that I like a lot.
