i used to have a script for 15mg focalin, now i got switched to 10mg vyvanse. Im supposed to progressively up the amount every week till i get the desire attentiveness. Obviously, that is not what im here for. Today, i took 30 mg, a half hour later i took another 10 mg. Its been an hour and 45 minutes, the only effect i feel is is slightly heightened heartbeat. Was this too light of a dose to have an recreation effects? If not, why haven't i felt anything? Or is this just not a good recreation choice?

Not a good recreational choice unless you really push the dose. It is designed to deliver consistent levels of d-amp among patients and hard to beat the way it does so, unlike other ER/CR systems.

In my experiences, Vyvanse was very effect at combating ADD, but it was futile trying to get high from it unless you take a heroic dose. ADD medicine is suppose to help you focus. The peppy-ness, euphoria, kick in your butt motivation that these pills give you are NOT what the medications are made for- and you will get tolerant to the "fun" side of these medications, but the boost in the focus department will remain.

If you're looking to get high from amphetamines, I'd go with either Adderall or Dexedrine.

When,it comes to add and adhd meds iv noticed that vyvanse dosnt give you that uppy feeling and euphoria that some, people get from adderall or dex.

I actually prefer vyvanse cause it helps,me,focus but not feeling the, stimulent effect.

To sum it up there's nothing you can do short of switching to Adderall or Dexedrine.

10 mg of vyvanse is the lowest dose I've ever heard of. I used to take 70 mg and it barely even helped me concentrate. I thought vyvanse was a waste of time. Just take it to go back to baseline and not be tired. Found it super easy to quit even after years of being on amps.

Yeah, 10mg is very, very low. I started out on 50 when switching from Adderall to try it.

Vyvanse is designed to be very difficult to abuse. The doesn't actually begin to release into your bloodstream until it reaches the intestines. There are several ways to tweak it, but none are like the boost other meds will give you.

You probably want to switch to Adderall or Dexedrine if you can.

without any tolerance i took 40mg and was wired. vyvanse also takes relatively long to kick in. i believe the peak effects aren't till after 3-4hrs. that's how it was for me at least. i had no idea of its duration and was up until the sun rose. i had the worst comedown after. intense flu like symptoms.

however, i'm actually taking vyvanse this weekend for a rave and do believe in its recreational potential as 40mg had me very euphoric and energetic. i love uppers for dancing etc. this time i have the remedies for the comedown ;)

though, if the OP is taking it for medicinal purposes then it will be unwise as mentioned for recreational purposes as he will become tolerant and high doses of stimulants habitually is not good for well being.

Yep, it does take about 4 hours to peak. I'm not denying any recreational potential, but it is a pro drug, and cannot be modified in a way to make it kick in faster or to be able to consume large amounts more quickly.

That said, I did have a little fun with it..certainly kept me awake longer than I intended. You have to make sure you have proper nutrition, because once the drug starts working, it steadily pumps through your system.

I take 70mg Vyvanse a day. I've been on it a long time. I started at 40 mg a day. Even at that dose, I felt pretty good ADD coverage. My energy was up and I was pretty happy. The problem was it didn't cover a full day, so I was eventually moved up to 70mg.

70mg is a nice dose. For me, it lasts a solid 8 to 10 hours. It lasts this long and I've been on it for roughly 3 years.

Tricks I've learned while using this medicine include taking a medication break once in a while, a good 2 to 3 day break, makes the medicine feel new and fresh to me.
One thing that helped me continue to get the most out of this drug was/is tuning into it. I don't take the effects for granted and I make sure my mindset is right before I use the drug.
I can't really explain being in the correct mindset, but if I have a lighter attitude, this medicine continues to effect me strongly.

This is a very nice medicine. If you want to really tweak TFO, use Adderall or Dex, like the above posters have suggested.
IMO, most of the time, the comedown is not bad at all in comparison to other amphetamines. I find benzodiazepines make the comedown very easy or almost non existent.

It's important to only take what you need, in order to avoid tolerance issues. Cal,Mag,Zinc pills and low dose DXM doses (30-60mg) on off days, I believe help keep tolerance at bay.
I couldn't help try to shed a light on an excellent medicine. Use wisely.

If you aren't feeling it you must be taking too small of a dose. Vyvanse is made to release over time slowly as opposed to all at once like the instant release amphetamines so it's much harder use recreationally. I remember when I was prescribed Concerta (Extended release Ritalin) and it was impossible to get any kind of buzz off of it. .

For me, Vyvanse was a horrible experience. About an hour and half, I started to feel it, and for about 40mins I noticed my concentration was better, then it turned horrible. I felt this spaced-out feeling that took a long time to wear off. It didn't make me "up" or start cleaning like crazy or feel happy. Just not for me. Really bad experience...

As many others stated, Vyvanse is not the greatest to take recreationally. I personally love them. I took about 50mg the other day with somewhat of a tolerance and I could still feel it just fine. It made me focused, alert, and gave me energy. But I did not feel euphoric. But I was still happy with this dose as I tend not to like the high of uppers but do enjoy the focus/not being tired.

It is not an intense feeling like adderall and does take a bit longer to kick in. In my experience, it didn't make me feel tweeked out and I feel like the conedown was much smoother. I do not have ADHD or ADD.

OP maybe you could try looking into potentiating it, or depending on toletance up the dose next time or take a few days/weeks and try it again. Again I don't know your tolerance and Vyvanse can really only he taken orally. You would be probably better off finding your amphetamine of choice in terms of the euphoria category.

I am not a doctor, please look more into it.

Vyvanse is a fantastic way for individuals with ADD to focus and provides users with euphoric feelings given food is consumed and prior day's rest is accomplished. Vyvanese provides you with wonderful feelings and does not have the negative comedown affects of Adderall.

Adderall provides users with ADD greater focus and energy. Euphoria is only experienced given the environment is pleasant and positive. Adderall has considerable comedown side effects including drained energy and depression. Most users will require either a benzo or opiate to come down from Adderall. Adderall is far more addictive and dangerous than Vyvanse. Only experienced ADD patients should ever be consuming Adderall.

No comment on Dexedrine
