This is a duplicate of a post I've made in the support thread pertaining to this awful gig we're into now, but no sense in linking what I can just type verbatim here for you now, my lovely brethren..

It's a damn shame we can't include like 100 original avatars, then narrow it down to like 30, then a final pol of like ten. I'm aware that's a large pain in the ass for a kind of back alley thread that's probably going to fail (I certainly hope not, although I do suffer hideously terminal confidance issues ).

I don't know, it's just funny when communicating via a medium like this, you see a username, and a (typically colorful/or otherwise intriguing) photograph directly next to it, then the voice of the persona in the form of the written word (always refreshing). I've found that my brain kind of fixes on the avatar as kind of the face communicating whatever ends up being typed by the subject in question. I'm sure it's not a phenomena I share alone, I'd best compare it to reading a good novel and picturing the antagonists and protagonists and sets and backdrops, settings etc. It's a similar kind of brain response in my experience. Long story short, kind of my motivation for starting something like this, or at least opening the initial thread.

I think I got myself in a bit over my head, thanks to PW for making it all happen.

Oh and profound, I really dig that post where you caught the ones I've missed, I'm feeling awfuler and yet more awful by the day seeing as how I feel like a shit in having to come up with the running list of candidates, thus my reasoning for suggesting a system (however pheasable (feasable? sp?) where we can add a fuckload since I know of at least many that I think are quite the artists's envy, if you dig. But that's like an impossible scenario, having a such a magnitude of finalists in a poll (not sure if it's even physcially possible, I'm not up to par on the web board finnesse you guys punch out every day), but it would be nice and I might be able to sleep tonight without the burden of guilt.

Yea, I'm considering taking myself out of the running since it seems unfair that I came up with the initial "list," as it were. Not that I would vote for myself (shit that hadn't even occured to me, I mean jesus, what's going on in the universe as of late?), that seems like the lamest thing I could possibly do, or anyone for that matter. That's a digression.

Anyhow,

I hate to spoil the surprise, plus it's a king hell of a decision to narrow it down to, I have like 5 in my brain that are like real close. Your's being one I must admit, I just wish I could add like ALL of them since all of them are equally far out there and usually full of awesome. I don't know, I hope this turns out fun. Otherwise I'll just cryy and cry.

PW says the poll's on the way (told me yesterday), just hammering out a few minor details.

I mean making sections of groups of avatars for people to vote between.

For example you could break it up into 4 groups each having say 8 avatars to choose between. The winners of those brackets would go up against one another. Obviously you could make the groups smaller and have more bracket levels or not.
