Regarding the federal government,the fact that they target 'asylum seekers',who majority are 'middle eastern appearance',plus many are escaping harsh conditions and countries we have even decided to attack.But, don't do much about the bigger problem of real 'illegals' - Mainly 'whites' that over stay their visas.

The federal government has planted the seed that has encouraged what has happened.Isolate minorities(Eg: Alexander Downer in 2001 after 9/11,suggesting 'boat people' coming here could be terrorists ),encourage the majority to do so,and use it as an federal election issue in 2001.
