Open Discussion victim section

I would be for this in Recovery Support.

BB would you like to create a thread? Similar to a Alanon(somewhat but kinda) thread. For victims of substance abuse to come together? I can get that setup and you can lead the way with the first post. I am sure we'll have a lot of responses for it.

I am working on it right now bb.

How do you feel about this title: Support For Those Affected by the Addiction of Others

Feel free to throw in suggestion. I want it to catch the eye of people just like you who are seeking support for themselves and also their loved ones.

Here is the thread: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/...e-Addiction-of-Others?p=11760914#post11760914

Just reply to it like you are replying in here and we'll get the ball rolling :) <3.

Not sure that I like the "victim" terminology much. I mean, the mother of a heroin addict is a victim of their child's heroin addiction in the same way that I am a victim of my brother's multiple sclerosis. Well, I do not consider myself a victim of his MS. I am his brother and his disease distresses me in that it hurts me to see him deteriorate towards an early death, and it places demands on me which would otherwise not be present. But I'm not a victim, I just have a brother with an illness.

What I dislike most about this turn of phrase is that it plays into the hands of those who would paint drug use as a crime with victims.
