Vicks 44 cough syrup (w00t!)

Robotussin Extra Strength

So I understand Robotussin Extra Strength or Vicks 44 is the one from reading Erowid, But are these brand names the same in Australia??
 
I have seen them for sale here in Australia.

Oh and for everyone dumping on people for getting high off cough syrup, get over it. Heroin was once sold as a cough supressant. DXM is not a substitute for weed or anything else. DXM is a legitimate disassociative psychadelic and the fact that it has cough supressant properties is irrelevant.
 
Its pretty easy, most pharmacies stock the required product, i live in semi rural area and my pharmacy stocks it. What you are looking for is Robitussin DX. Its the one with no other active ingredients, the others can fuck u majorly.

Robitussin dx is 30mg dextromorphan hydrobromide to 10ml liquid.
but DXM isn't something to shrug off as a legal high. It can be ok starting with low doses
but i went to a 3rd plateu experience... got very sick and actually was very fearful of dying very CEV orientated trip with good and bad aspects. It was a very strong spiritual experience for me. But the fact was these wierd symptoms followed for about a week after. Similar to the symptoms of seretonin syndrome although i'm not to sure because i went to the doctor and all he said was that i had a virus and gave me some antibiotics (which really didn't do much if anything) I was quite scared for a while afterwards and swore never to touch the stuff again... and i havn't
but saying that i'm glad i did get that perspective shift in my life and i dont regret what i did. DXM isn't just some crap junkie drug for people who can't find real drugs. Also note it shouldn't be toyed with as being seen as a legal high. Respect DXM as you would any other psychoactive or it'll kick you in the ass!
Some find the nausea aspect destroys any euphoria felt by DXM.

It seems like you're forgetting Benadryl Dry Cough Forte, which has always been for sale here in Australia, and has been the only brand I have ever experimented with. Contains 15mg of DXM per 5mL by memory. Half a 200mL bottle will get one well into a good solid 2nd plateau experience. Also not too difficult to down for me, yet I know some friends who beg to differ...

yeah don't mess around with that stuff unless you know you are going to be careful. You can get hooked on that stuff if you enjoy it. You will have mind blowing experiences if you experiment with it enough.
 
I've only done it a few times, treating it just as I would any other heavy duty psychoactive substance. Last time I did it, I took my usual dose except with a glass of grapefruit juice beforehand, it was about 360mg but had a cone whilst it was kicking in (which I'd never done before)... I honestly hadn't felt that mangled in ages. Topics of conversation with my girlfriend consisted of things like 'Where did reality go?' and I was unbelievably out of my skull...
It's weird how sometimes you don't feel much at all, then other times you get really gone off the same dosage. Be careful, it can knock you on your ass if you're not prepared and don't know what to expect.
 
Yep pretty much the only difference between DXM and other psychoactives is its legality. Can be too powerful. Personally i like the insights it gave me but someone may find the overwhelming. When i had a high dose i was honestly afraid I was going to die even though i kept reassuring myself i would be fine
 
Just to add, i have tried between 100mg and 120mg of pure, powdered DXM. It was NOT a very pleasant experience.

I encountered about 3 hours of vomiting and very little positive effects. I suspect i had an allergic reaction. Please be very careful when trying a new drug. Start small.
 
I'm on the tail end of a 2nd plateau trip... 100ml bottle of Robitussin DX Extra Strength (300mg DXM).

Best value, best taste, strongest strength :)

Doesn't the Benadryl Dry Cough Forte have Guaniffesen (sp?) in it, which gives you bad diahorrea if you take it in high doses, i.e. enough to get an effect from the DXM?

ok, so if someone was wanting to try it for a first time, what would be the best cough medicine to get? how much should someone intake, and what should u expect?
 
for my 1st time i had half a bottle of robitussin DX, the experience was good, experienced mild hullucinations. lasted between 2 - 3 hours if i can remember correctly.
 
do ya reaserch, check out the threads on bluelight and and also erowid, Robitussin DX is the best choice,and its seems the vics aint bad either(but i personly haven't tryed vics myself yet). its best to start with a small dose first.eg 50mls of robitussin =150mg of dxm,wait an hour, and if you aint feeling bad physicly and mentaly then increase your dose with another 50ml.
it takes about 1/2 an hour to 1 hour to fully kick in,and its a good idea to have just a little bit of food in ya stomach.
but as i said theres some good threds from about a month or 2 ago...so have a read. cherrs!:)
 
I had my first DXM experience last weekend, have a 200ml bottle of robotussin DX (equal to a high 2nd level platou dose for someone of my build) over 2 hours.
Despite a bad case of the Robo Itch it was a fantastic experience, I found spending it out doors in the sun was the best place to be.I found sitting inside watching TV did nothing but partially distract me from the itch.
 
Benadryl Dry Forte doesn't have guanifesin, but it has sorbitol (inactive ingredient) which WILL make you throw up if you drink enough, plus the fact that shit is NASTY...it's very easily available though, often when Robo EX isn't...never seen Vicks.

but yeah, I've done Benadryl Dry Forte prob. 4-5 times and only the last two (on low doses, around 200-250mg) i got through without throwing up (still got bad nausea/stomach cramps though). My higher doses with that stuff (apart from being damn nasty to drink) have not been pleasant, HEAVY vomiting about 45mins-1hr after ingestion. It's all good after that but it kinda wrecks the trip...

so my advice, don't do Benadryl Dry Forte; it's just not as good a source.
 
never could fathom as to why and how anyone would / could actually enjoy a DXM intoxication, but to each his own.

syyyyrup, ugh, wait till you get out of grade school and try real drugs.
 
theres some good advice!! Go out and try real drugs. Are real drugs E, speed, coke etc? Very good idea to try these because you know exactly what your getting and its very safe. *please please please not sarcasm*

At least with things like DXM via sources such as cough syrup, the user knows exactly what he/she is getting and can dose appropriately. I think it would be a fair point to argue that taking DXM is safer than taking street drugs as long as sensible doses are adhered to.
