Hi bluelighters.
I don't know if this has been asked before but is it a good idea to start taking venlafaxine (Effexor) after quitting tramadol cold turkey?
In the past I took venlafaxina and sertraline for depression and got good results, so maybe this time it can help me again.
I plan to quit tramadol cold turkey. I have done it before but always I last about 10 days before relapsing. In large part I think it's because I miss its antidepressant effects. I find the physical effects of withdrawal totally tolerable but the psychological ones are the ones that affect me a lot. Depression is a thousand times worse than when I started taking tramadol.
Considering that tramadol and venlafaxine have chemical similarities, I thought it would not be a bad idea to take venlafaxine while my neurotransmitters are working normally again.
What do you think? Do you think it would be a good plan?
